At The University of Hull studying the BA Primary Teaching (Hons) will result in you receiving a recommendation for QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). This course is designed for people who have an interest in education and the ways in which people learn and develop, and it supports you in developing your ability to examine aspects of educational theory and practice.

We offer the option of an integrated foundation year for students who have taken time away from education and need to pass the requisite Professional Skills tests to progress to the full BA Honours programme. Our courses help you to understand the theories, values, policies and practices that underpin Ôeducation for allÕ.Ê

The BA Primary Teaching course enables you to begin the induction year of teaching; on completion of this, you be a fully qualified teacher. Most of our students are employed soon after completing the course.

As a graduate, you will continue to have access to the University Careers Service which will provide a wealth of advice, information and guidance to help ready you for the world of work.

You can also choose the pathway to further study and training; we encourage our students to think about studying for a postgraduate qualification once they have embarked on their teaching career.
