  • The difficulty level is high. It was a mix of both. However, it is extremely important that a student is very well versed with the subject for them to get a decent marks in the subject.
  • As mentioned before, the negative aspect is, the course is not a cake walk. However, this also makes sure, that the students pursuing the course is very well prepared. Everything is conceptual.

Fees

  • The fee was 26400 pounds. They were broken down in 3 parts. 1000 to get the unconditional offer letter. 12200 on Sept 23. The rest had to be paid during February. However, they were pretty accommodating and provided various payment terms. The payment was semester wise.

  • Monthly expense - 1100 (everything included)
    800 - rent
    70 - transportation
    230 - Food and misc.

  • The course material was theoretical, but I expected more practical content. I found this slightly unsatisfactory because I prefer hands-on learning. I had the option of pursuing a practice track rather than a dissertation, which provided me with a more practical approach. This was a big advantage because it enabled me to apply theoretical information in real-world situations.
  • Overall, I thought the academic course lacked practicality, particularly in the first semester. This was frustrating because I had expected more hands-on learning experiences from the start.
  • We normally have 2 classes every day. We sometimes meet with our groups in between classes. The times change each semester based on the optional subjects we select. The schedule's flexibility can be both exciting and difficult to manage.
  • More than 100 students attended my class. This huge class size sometimes made it difficult to have individual interactions or conversations during lectures. The vast majority of the students were Indian. While this was comfortable in certain respects, it resulted in less intercultural exposure than I had hoped for.
  • Overall, I don't believe the course content and teaching methods adequately prepared us for a job in the industry. While some classes were really useful, there appeared to be a disconnect between what we learned and what businesses in the marketing profession are searching for.

Fees

  • The tuition fees for the University of Bath's MSc Marketing program for international students was £25,000 during my stay. I managed to use this to offset my studies’ academic side. The cost is not inclusive of any accommodations or living expenses. Several accommodation facilities exist in the university but as the costs tend to differ, it is advisable to visit their site for the current rates.
  • They have a reasonable flexible fee structure which is more advantageous to students. In order to secure our place and to indicate that we were committed to going, a non-refundable deposit for my course had to be paid. However, at a later date, this deposit was deducted from our total tuition fees.
  • We were given the options for the payment of the remaining tuition: Pay in full or Split the amount into two equal parts and pay after a certain period.
  • In terms of monthly expenditure, I don’t think that I will be able to provide an accurate indication of my own spending due to the fact that differences in student lifestyle and choices greatly affect expenditure. You may also visit the official website of the university regarding the current or approximate expenses of living in Bath.

  • It was a perfect mix of theory and practicals. The week initially looked like Monday to Friday (Wednesday being a self-study day) from 9 am to 5 pm. Each day has its own subject. We study around 4 subjects until we finish them and the associated projects to move on to the next 4. The core subjects are all finished and then we have optional modules to choose from based on our interests.
  • Positive aspects include the diverse classmates and the professionals who come to give talks regarding different industries, supportive staff, tech-enabled classrooms and the practical discussions that happen on a regular basis.
  • Negative aspects for me were the long hours made me feel tired sometimes; the course gets really intense at certain times, career prospects in the UK itself is a bit skeptic.

Fees

  • The fee for the full-time MBA course was 37,500 GBP for an entire year(international and local fees are the same). Since I got a scholarship of 10K GBP, I had to pay 27,500 GBP overall in 2 installments (September and January).
  • The accommodation I stayed in was on campus. It was probably the best one in Bath which had modern rooms, bi-weekly cleaning by the cleaning staff, a free washing machine within the flat, free drying room access, and a big kitchen. The weekly rent was 251 GBP which had to be paid in 4 installments over the year. The total was around 13K GBP.
  • I spent around 600 to 800 pounds on average monthly as part of my expenses.

The course curriculum by itself was very interesting, but the teaching style of the professors made it quite boring to study or even attend lectures sometimes. Basically, they were just reading out of the PPT instead of teaching. And no, there was no industrial exposure for us.

The course was good and related to all the aspects of engineering which I was expecting and needed for my development. There was no industrial exposure but I did have a research project/thesis and also very good team projects which we get guided through by really great faculties and the facilities/resources were also provided at excellence.

Fees

25000 pounds.

Course curriculum is good and faculty is great overall. But like all Masters programs in Data Science currently, they tend to scratch the surface and not go in depth. Plus since it's a year long and not 2 years unlike the US and Canada, things can get hectic. But there are great opportunities in the field and a huge shortage for DS professionals. My advice: do projects on your own. Don't just depend on your degree. Employers want to see initiative and how well rounded you are as a person. Work experience can really help as well.

Fees

Approx 35000 GBP. Scholarships in UK are not easy to get. But you can look online.

The course curriculum provided by University of Bath is excellent. The course includes all major topic in Data Science like Data preprocessing, Machine learning, Statistics, Deep learning, Bayesian Machine learning and reinforcement learning. All these modules are up to date for industrial exposure and the assignments provided by the faculties will help real time problems in industry. There are plenty of research opportunities as well. Assignments are designed such a way that it will allow you to do lots of research, learn new things and prepare you for doing dissteration.

Fees

I have 2 years of course. The tuition fees for first year was £23,100 in 2020 and for second year, it was £6,352 in 2021. Note that fees increases 5% per year.

The course module was extremely relevant in todays business world. As they say - entrepreneurship cannot be taught, but learned by experience. But the course and the faculty had made sure too give us the best blend of academics with practical learning. The modules taught in the second term including Opportunity Generation , Assessment and Development ; Entrepreneurial Finance and Research Methods gave us the tools required to properly formulate and draft a business plan for any proposed venture.

The course modules were really interesting to me, especially since I had done similar subjects in my under graduation. With relevant topics in todays day and age , it was a step up from what I had learned and how I have to apply it in my work life as I begin working in my family business and look for new opportunities as and how I take over the business. In a post-covid world having these techniques to think and look at opportunities in different ways will help stand out from the crowd.
