I applied to various colleges: University of Bath: Admitted, University of Manchester: Rejected, Warwick: Admitted (after being Waitlisted), Cranfield University: Admitted Some possible reasons for rejection could include Academic performance. My grades could’ve possibly been below their typical admissions threshold, this could have been a primary factor. I picked the University of Bath after thinking hard about a few things. The main reason was Bath's great academic rankings, which stood out from other universities I looked at. But what made up my mind was realizing I'd live in Bath for a whole year which would be a place that would be not boring. Bath seemed to be the ideal location to spend a year in university due to its aspects such as age old history, well architected buildings and a vibrant culture. Bath was ideal out of the choices provided; the combination of world-class education and a fascinating city. The admission process was very easy. I applied through the university’s website . For this, I had to submit a number of important documents: my grades, a personal statement that stated my goals and reasons for application, and 2-3 references from my professors. And when I received an offer, I was glad to learn that the university also offered scholarships to its students. To do this, however, I just had to field some more queries. And now, I am pleased to inform you that this extra work, in fact, paid off - I received a scholarship worth five thousand pounds! This is a competitive scholarship, selection is very limited despite the high number of applicants . Do you wish to apply in future? If yes then I advise provided you will be making a scholarship application, then do that at the earliest opportunity possible for a higher chance. The University of Bath sets clear standards to get in. For students with degrees from outside the UK, you need a qualification that matches a UK 2:1 or higher. But don't worry if your grades aren't quite there. Bath might still let you in if you can show you're right for the course in other ways. To prove you're good at English, Bath looks at IELTS scores . They have very specific rules about this: You need an overall IELTS score of 7.0 or higher, Your scores for reading, writing, listening, and speaking should each be 6.5 or above. Make sure your IELTS results are less than two years old when your MSc course begins. The way they handled applications was organized and easy to use. Their website for admissions made sense so I could send in all my papers without trouble. I liked how clear they made each step of the process. I did have some trouble getting all my papers together on time with the letters people wrote to recommend me. But this taught me how to plan better and talk to people more. Another standout was how the admissions team communicated. They stood ready to answer my questions and offer guidance, which eased the stress of the whole process. All in all, my admission experience kicked off my time at Bath on a good note. It got me excited and ready for the academic road ahead, and my experience so far has exceeded those early expectations. I applied for the University of Bath's MSc in Marketing in September. My choice of applying to this intake was influenced by several factors: I preferred starting in September since it fitted in perfectly with the graduation date for my degree and gave me time off before embarking on a master’s degree. I was also able to arrange to travel to the UK and look for accommodation and complete other necessary course work by picking the September intake. For most of the month of September, I was able to travel to Bath before the cold seasons set in winter allowing me to adjust to the cold winter season after the pleasant fall.  I submitted my first application in the first week of February 2022. I received another email towards the end of February 2022 requesting more information, including my subjects and grades records for the third year undergraduate studies up to that point. Due to my final year undergraduate grades not having been disclosed, in the first week of March 2022 I was given a conditional offer. Received rejection from Imperial College. Accepted in Birmingham university and University of Bristol. I was rejected in ICL because of my grades during my undergraduate degree. While they were good enough, the university required more. Apart from this I applied to Coventry University and Stirling as a safe University. I was successful in securing an offer letter from these 2 universities as well. University of Bath is highly ranked in the leagues table an QS. Apart from that a very safe city. These 2 reasons led me to choose the University of Bath. The admission process involves Bachelor's grades, SOP, LOR and IELTS exam. During my time the IELTS score needed was 7 for a safe spot and the minimum was 6.5. The admission process was relatively smooth with no major hiccup. However, they had a pr-check before releasing the CAS number. I had to show my financial details during this check. I applied to 23 - 24 batch. I started applying in Oct 22. Got a conditional offer letter in Jan 23. Then I proceeded to do the pre-cas check as explained earlier and got my unconditional offer letter by March. I applied to over 20 business schools in the UK. The universities I got rejections from are as follows: University of Leeds, Aston Business School, Kingston University, University of Stirling, University of Liverpool, University of Glasgow. The rejection was mainly due to a lack of business or managerial experience in my CV. These universities mainly look for 3-5 years of managerial experience. I had roughly 4 years of experience (includes lead experience but not managerial). I applied to these universities apart from the above: University of Bath, Lancaster University Management School, University of Strathclyde, Durham University, University of Birmingham, University of Sheffield, University of Nottingham, Loughborough University, Cardiff University, University of Surrey, Brunel Business school, Queen's University Belfast, Birmingham City University, Buckinghamshire New University, University of westminister, Hult business school, University of East Anglia, Bangor University, University of Sussex. While most of the universities did not reply, I got offer letters from the following: University of Surrey, Brunel Business school, Lancaster University, Queen's University Belfast, University of Bath, Bangor University, Hult business school. Here are the factors I considered while choosing Bath over others: QS ranking of the university, proximity to major cities like London, university reputation, extra-curricular activities, scholarship, no hard need to write GMAT, career prospects, multi-project suite and reviews from alumni. Once applied and waited for 10 days, I got an email for the first round of interviews which was more of a culture fit interview, explaining my professional experience and intention to do an MBA. After a week I got selected for the second round which was with the career head, where they will assess if MBA is the right way and how they can help us achieve it. Got the conditional letter after two weeks or so. There was a video submission done to apply for a scholarship (optional). If the candidate's professional experience suffices, they do not ask for a GMAT but an IELTS score of 7 or above is a must. It was very smooth and probably one of the fastest ones comparing to other universities. September 2023 intake was the one I planned for. In the UK, there are generally 2 intakes: September and January, only 5-10% of all universities have Jan intake which is a selected list of good colleges. I wanted to do an MBA to start my own business in the future. Due to rising competition in India, the best way for me to do this was through an international MBA. The ranking of the university, the reviews from previous students, and the career prospects made me choose this university and the particular program. The overall experience of my study time at the University of Bath was top notch. Ever since the first day, my professors laid down a clear path of study and how the curriculum would progress. There were several social events to make friends at, which made it easy to make friends. The university hosted frequent career events to interact with recruiters, build connections and get to know more about the jobs. The university allowed us to choose the subjects and modules we wanted based on our interests and we were well informed about each module. The overall experience was great and it really developed me a lot, in terms of way of thinking, positive mindset and how to create a good work culture and environment. The course gave me a lot of learning and some very good and big projects including team work and individual aspects of striking them. University of Bath is one of the best university in UK for Data Science with good ranking. The curriculum provided by the university is really good which covers almost every topic in data science. The deep learning and reinforcement learning modules would be very helpful and not included in most of the other universities. University of Bath ranked 2nd in the uk for management courses. I personally selected bath for the course as the course is very diverse and to gain perspective internationally. Modules like cross cultural management, international strategy management, global business are really helpful for long run.
