- Psychology is a popular subject because it has relevance to so many areas of everyday life. It is of interest to anyone who wants to understand what causes certain elements of human behaviour and how knowledge of that behaviour can be applied.
- As a psychology student here at Solent they will explore how people act and interact, both as individuals and in groups while analysing the thoughts and feelings that underlie specific behaviours.
- The curriculum will see students exploring key areas of psychological study including education; crime; sport and exercise; social behaviours; therapy and counselling.
- Students will also carry out an intensive study of scientific approaches to psychology. These topics, which include research methods, problem solving and manipulation of data, provide useful tools for careers in healthcare, law enforcement, finance, research and IT.
