With theÊBA Journalism, Media and Communication and Spanish degrees at The University of Strathclyde you can face todayÕs media industry expanding beyond traditional print and broadcast journalism. It includes professional bloggers and vloggers, freelance writers and editors, podcasters, people working in entertainment TV, radio, or film, creators of video games and interactive apps, promoters of ideas and products, and many others.

Pursuing the BA in Journalism, Media and Communication will engage you in useful learning in a broad professional context, which includes a critical understanding of the media industry, while acquiring technical and professional skills in journalism, communication, information design and management, and using them in the dynamic media market of Glasgow and beyond. It will also allow you to take a second subject, which will enhance your expertise and university experience even further.
Careers
Journalism graduates from Strathclyde have won awards for student journalism and have gone on to succeed at national newspapers, the regional press and as published authors.
Among graduatesÕ job titles are press officer, marketing and media officer, freelance journalist, fundraiser and PR assistant.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Should have completed secondary school certificate or equivalent
- Official transcripts of previous academic institution
- English language requirement criteria fulfillment
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: 6.0 minimum with 5.5 minimum in each component
- CPE: minimum 180
- CAE: minimum 170
- Pearson: 59 with minimum 59 in each section
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- Minimum 65% for CBSE and ICSE board students
- Minimum 60% for students of state boards
- Minimum 60% for students with 3 year diploma
