Course Curriculum

10

  • The course was up to date with the latest research.
  • I was given research experience as a part of my dissertation. I conducted primary research on the effects of Kapalbhati on Resting Metabolic Rate.

Admission Experience

  • Facilities were state-of-the-art. The course was accredited by BASES. The fees were not as expensive as other universities.
  • My experience was good overall. I got to connect with some great lecturers. There were opportunities in everything. I was satisfied with everything that was offered.

Faculty

10

  • Seminars usually had a capacity of 20 students with one staff member. However, I never saw everyone coming, so it was always 10-15 students. Some of the academics were great and very approachable.
  • Dr Danny Brown is an amazing academic who teaches nutrition. I still ask him to write references for me whenever I need one.

Campus Life

6

  • There are 2 campuses of Leeds Beckett- City centre and Headingley. I was based at the Headingley Campus. The campus infrastructure was good. It was a green campus as well with a lot of sports facilities.
  • I started the yoga society at the university, and it was very easy to start a society. I also secured £750 funding to buy blocks and straps. The library had most of the books that I wanted. It was a good overall experience.

Part Time Jobs

  • The minimum wage is around £12 if you are over 21, I think. There are several ways to apply for part-time jobs- cold calling, online application, careers fairs, etc., 20 hours.
  • In my experience, it was not too hard to find a job on campus. All I had to do was keep looking and be proactive. I am not sure about TA, RA, or DA positions.

Placement

6

  • I am not sure about the average salary. However, according to my experience, it is extremely difficult to find a full-time job in sports. I found a job in marketing within the university itself as soon as I finished my course.
  • I had to go through several rejections before I got selected. I found jobs through online websites, the university careers portal, and by networking with people.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • I used online websites and went in person later to check accommodations. In my first year, I paid £142 per week. For the next 2 years, I lived in a different student accommodation and paid £120 per week.

Exams

  • Different courses have different requirements. For my course:
    • A science-based subject in high school.
    • More than 80 marks in the 12th class English board exam. (I scored 89)
    • Supporting statement, previous academic history, and work experience.

Fees

  • £36000 (£12000 per year)
