UCL review

I applied to more than 10 universities in countries like Germany, the USA, France, Montpellier and many of the universities in the UK. I was selected in most of the universities; however, I wanted to go for that particular university, which can help me in gaining STEM courses with professional certification; hence, I finally selected Lancaster University. I might not be chosen at another university due to their course, which did not align with my goal. Admission criteria was normal as other colleges; a minimum of 60% is required. Scholarships are given based on marks in your undergraduate degree. I chose this university because it is giving me 11 papers exemption in CIMA and 7 papers exemption in ACCA certification. I paid application fees of £40. Then did the online application, attaching all the scanned copies of the documents. After a few days I received an admission letter, with a specified date to pay fees of £2000 as a deposit for seat booking confirmation. After paying £2000 in fees, which is deductible from my final fees, I received a CAS letter, based on which I applied for a loan and visa. Lancaster University has one intake only for Master's students – it is September 2025. Application results were displayed in one month; after that, all the processes started, from paying deposits within 1.5 months after that to obtaining the CAS certificate. I've applied for 5 universities:  1) UCL - Admitted 2) Warwick - Got offer letter 3) Roehempton - Got offer letter 4) Northumbria - Got offer letter 5) Coventry - Rejected I tailored my personal statement and other things as per the university and it helped me into getting selected in all. I was rejected by Coventry because they required the experience of at least 3 years and I did not have that. So I did not pass their eligibility criteria. I chose UCL as this was my dream university and it had the course I was interested in. I immediately applied for it and tailored my CV and personal statement accordingly. I have IELTS and my score was 7.5 My overall admission process was smooth just with few issues from my home university regarding my transcripts. Other than that UCL was very helpful throughout the process. I applied for September intake and it is the best time as you end your previous studies 2 months back and no time goes waste in between. The admission process can take about 1-2 months, depends on when you apply. I had applied to the University of Cambridge, University College London, and the University of Melbourne. I was accepted to all the aforementioned universities. I received a conditional offer from the University of Cambridge, and I received unconditional offers from UCL and the University of Melbourne. I could not pursue a master's at the University of Cambridge as I failed to gather a fully funded scholarship, which was one of the conditions as a part of my admission. As I failed to move forward with the University of Cambridge, UCL was my second option based on the QS rankings. Furthermore, I was interested in the chemical research degree provided by UCL, as it is structured in a way of a "short PhD," which will provide me with an overall idea of what a PhD is supposed to be like and hence prepare me for the next stage of my career. I had received an unconditional offer of admission from UCL; hence, my admission process was very simple. I had to provide my transcripts of my undergraduate degree, two letters of reference from my professors during my undergraduate degree and my IELTS scorecard. Additionally, I had to write a statement of purpose of 1000 words stating why I wanted to be a part of UCL and under this particular degree and state my top three choices of supervisors with proper justifications. The minimum requirements for admission were IELTS (7 and above) and GPA (3.6 and above). But attaining the minimum requirements does not mean a guaranteed admission, as they just imply that you qualify to apply-the decision of admission lies with the department. My overall admission experience was pretty straightforward and simple. As I had 3 work experiences and several publications, I had an advantage over the other applicants, and hence I managed to receive an unconditional offer of admission straightaway. Fall intake of 2024. I had just completed my research internship at IIT Jodhpur and was interested in continuing my higher studies immediately after gathering the relevant research experience. I applied to only three universities 1 Queen Mary 2 UCL 3 LSE Queen Mary and UCL I received the offer letter into but got rejected LSE. I am assuming the reason behind my rejection was no work experience after my graduation. LSE requires work experience and in my case I was applying soon after graduation. Queen was always my third option; that’s why I chose UCL. I always wanted to go to the university, which had an amazing world ranking and is renowned all over the world. The QS ranking of UCL is 9th and the law ranking is 12th. UCL is an exceptionally good university for law and many famous figures like Mahatma Gandhi studied there. For me, the criteria was a world-class university with a top-notch ranking. The admissions process was quite intensive. I submitted: 1 SOP 2 Academic letters of recommendations (two) 3 Written Essays 4 IELTS with a band of 7 in each section and overall 7.5 It was a very challenging process because I did not take help from any external source and the visa process is very complicated as well. I applied for the September 2024 intake. I wanted to start my masters soon after my graduation, as I was already studying in India and did not want to disturb my flow. Apart from that, I want to work with international firms and international exposure was the best option to land a secure job. The factors that drove me to accept the offer were: World ranking, campus and location, well-rounded course structure related to all branches of Psychology, focus on scientific aspect of Psychology. What I liked most about University was the social aspect in terms of clubs and societies, and the focus on providing a well rounded Psychology background and the practical work we did.
