Pro and cons of studying in UK

I applied to Brunel University London, Coventry University, and the University of Edinburgh. (I received offer letters from all three, but decided to go for Brunel just because it was in London and its campus life) I would advise choosing your college based on your highest priority preferences. Rest is up to you on how you make the best of your time there. The admission process was easy and convenient. The steps for the admission process change for the better from time to time, so you have to keep your eye out for that. The university accepted my overall score of 8 in IELTS (their minimum requirement is 6, probably.) The overall admission process took over a month. Including receiving the offer letter, applying for scholarships, paying the security deposit for the tuition fee, securing a seat, and receiving the final offer. January intake 2024. The admission process was faster compared to the time taken by other universities in response. The whole process took less than 2 months if I exclude the time I took for myself to sit on the offer and contemplate the best choice of action. I applied at July end and got the offer by mid-August, and finalised it by the end of September 2023. I got admitted into Brunel, Kingston, Loughborough, Swansea and UCL and got rejected by Imperial, Edinburgh and Manchester University. Rejections were mainly because of not aligning with their grade average pointers i was lacking by 3 percent overall. Many universities have First come first serve basis and i was late to apply for the above-given universities. I also applied for Italian and German universities too. Got rejection because of Language proficiency certificate. My requirement was mainly research and i want the course with strong research foundations thats why i choose Brunel and Brunel was known for its strong alliance with the UK government in Renewable Energy field. Admission process is pretty neat 1) Online application, 2) LOR & SOP submission 3) Interview with Course Director 4) Interview for Financial AID clarity 5) Offer Letter. Eligibility criteria First Class Bachelor's Degree, IELTS 6.5 Average, Any Research Publications & Ability to show Financial AID. We have to fill out the ATS for my specific course, which assesses the mental stability of the applicant in which i needed help from the counsellor to ace it. 2021 Intake right after the Covid Ban lifted. Due to covid, I had a significant gap in my career, for which i wanted to improve my chances of getting better opportunities through masters degree and i always wanted to go to London and live there, which is why I chose the UK as my study abroad destination. I applied to 5 colleges. I got accepted in 2 of them, which were Brunel university and Anglia Ruskin university. I was rejected from London business school, Hertfordshire university and Queens Mary university. Out of all these universities LBS was my top choice and brunel was second and the rest were university recommendations from colleagues and friends and some Google research. I believe my grade played a role for not being accepted in LBS but being accepted in Brunel was fairly exciting. I chose brunel over other universities due to its reputation of being a diverse university with top notch academic and amazing campus. Being situated close to London was another great motivation for me. I applied to the college online where I provided relevant docs with a letter of recommendations along with a personal statement where I mentioned my motivations, goals etc for the chosen course. I had to appear for the IELTS and the minimum score required was 6.5 but I score an 8 which was great for me. Overall I would rate my admission experience as 9/10. It was fairly easy to understand and fill out the forms but there definitely some areas that can be improved to cut short the long time it consumes. The only challenge I faced was IELTS and writing a great personal statement. I enrolled for short IELTS coaching to score good marks and took suggestions from my mentor to write the personal statement. I applied to January intake as it aligned with the end of my job before. I decided to pursue a masters degree around July. That's when I started serving my notice period of 2 months. This made January intake quite suitable for me. The university experience has been good overall, but what they lack is clarity and uniformity. There is difference in opinion among teachers which is disadvantage for students. The supervisor are not readily available when you need them. Most of the staff works online. The campus life was good. Library service was excellent. To get admission I gave IELTS exam I got 7.8 bands so I'm eligible for admission then I proceed further process The college curriculum is the latest and helps us to understand all the topics in detail and properly. The curriculum follows all the latest industry regulations and helps us to develop our innovative skills and the college also promotes innovative ideas. The faculty is one of the biggest UPs of the college. The faculty minimum teaching experience is around 10-15 years.
