Course Curriculum

10

  • Difficulty level of my course curriculum: The course was intense with a mix of both theoretical and practical application. Each module delves into important aspects of the subject
  • Positive aspects of my course: Course structure, Assignments given which helped in diving deeper into what was taught
  • Negative aspects of my course: Feels a bit fast-paced initially
  • In a day, there are usually 2 or 3 classes scheduled
  • Usual timings: 09:30 - 11:30 | 12:00 - 13:30 | 14:30 - 16:00 (most commonly 09:30 and 14:30 classes are scheduled)
  • Average number of students: 40
  • Indian Students: 10

Admission Experience

  • Applied for 2 Universities - Cranfield University and Swansea University. Both accepted my application, and I was shortlisted for both.
  • Received admission from both universities but chose Cranfield for a vast number of reasons.
  • No colleges that I applied to have sent me a rejection
  • A lot could depend on the requirements of the university and of the student as well.
  • Cranfield is a complete postgraduate university, meaning fresh minds every year and acceptance of new talent are regular. Apart from this, the university also offers a research facility and is located in a calm and green environment.
  • The admission process:
    • Application
    • Confirmation of admission with Deposit (upon acceptance from university)
    • Confirmation of CAS Letter
    • IHS and Visa Application
    • Uploading documents in the Shield portal (useful for submitting all docs, visa status and proof of funds)
    • Arrival in the country
    • Received by the university (transport provided upon request through portal)
  • Intake applied for and factors influenced: September 2023; most particularly, my planning of the course and personal reasons influenced my decision
  • The process took me about 6 months (from April to September).
  • Timeline as follows:
    • Application
    • Confirmation of admission
    • Deposit payment
    • CAS Approval and Confirmation
    • Shield portal document approval and final confirmation

Faculty

10

  • Faculty-to-student ratio: 1:4.
  • Influence of ratio: This keeps the environment healthy for all students to schedule times with professors time-to-time based on availability
  • Teaching methodology: This is more industry-specific, which helps in gaining understanding of industry requirements and keeps us prepared in working towards securing a job
  • A lot of the assistance depends on referrals upon request. But the professors are always helpful in preparing students to be industry-ready.
  • My mentor, Peter (who also happens to be my course director), is the one I admire the most; he has been a constant support throughout the course period, starting from my admission time till today.
