What Students Say
Likes
- Location was the best part,
- Food was always fresh,
- Faculty was the sweetest and helpful to all the students,
Dislikes
- Student crowd was the worst part of college,
- There was just a small building in the name of a university,
- No outside friends were allowed just to visit inside,
Course Curriculum
- The academics were really flexible with only 2 working days in the week allowing space for extra curricular activities and part time work for the students. It was the perfect mix of theory and practical learning.
- The work pressure was really low. Additionally, a small group of students in one classroom made it better to learn effectively and efficiently.
Admission Experience
- Applied to- Queen Mary University, Sheffield University, Nottingham University, Sunderland University, Sussex University, Newcastle University, Oxford University
- Got offer letters in- Queen Mary University, Sheffield University, Sunderland University
- I was rejected from other universities as my SOP was not that good according to the universities I got rejected in.
- The location was fascinating and so was the faculty present there. I was looking for a college in London and this was the college I could get into. The colleges in my country were not that good and did not provide exposure. Part time jobs were highly respected in the UK and were also very fun to do so. Networking events were also held in my college.
- I applied to January intake as i was a little late for the application process in the UK and my grades were also low for the higher universities. The admission process was pretty simple as UCAS made it very easy for all the students to apply and track their admission process from a single website. It totally depends on the university to university for the timeline.
Faculty
- The faculty members were really helpful and tried their best to engage with students and understand their expectations from the module. They did not hesitate to alter their teaching methods as per the requirements of each individual.
- I also received immense support during the examination period which enhanced my performance to a higher level. Apart from academics the faculty members also cared about the child's growth and mental health.
Campus Life
- There were no societies or clubs present in my college but the university was open for students to start their own clubs as for the other events there were networking events and cultural fests outside of college.
- Facilities like library, medical rooms and game room was available but there was no sports facility available for students. My college has many campuses.
Part Time Jobs
- Part time opportunities/ jobs were so many as a cashier, consultant, teacher, campus ambassador, student marketeer, volunteers for ngo and so many more. No on-campus jobs were available unfortunately. Students sometimes suffer due to no external contacts for part time jobs as many restaurants only accept through referrals. 20 hours per week is the maximum a student can work.
- Most students prefer working in a bar or a restaurant and also on-campus. Most jobs pay an hourly rate of 10 pounds for all undergraduate students. The work is usually easy to learn with respectable employers and flexibility in your working schedule. Usual process is applying through company websites, indeed or linkedin. Most pert time jobs do not require a cover letter.
Placement
- Although there are many opportunities, international students are not the first priority of companies and the salaries are also not that great considering the tax rate in the UK.
- It is really challenging to land a graduate role in UK but even if a person lands one, a lot of companies do not give sponsored visa to work and reside in the UK after post study.
Accommodation
- I opted for off-campus accommodation which was a 20 minutes tube ride away from my university. Unite students was the cheapest option.
- The accommodation faculty was very considerate of student needs and provided for every issue faced as soon as they could. Events were held regularly which made us find more friends around and to have fun. the rooms were spacious.
Exams
- No exam was required for my college application process except for the interview process.
- All of your legal documents are required for the admission and visa process like adhaar card, pan card, passport, other valid id proofs, 12th marksheet, 10th marksheet, letter of recommendation from our school teachers, statement of purpose, valid tickets for visa approval.
Fees
- The fee structure was pretty expensive. We were required to pay fee per semester and if you got delayed there was always a penalty for it.
- The rent structure in my accommodation was also pretty expensive as I was living in London. Every facility was provided near my accommodation like gym, tesco and aldi (supermarket), food court, cafes and parks.
Scholarship
- Yes there are scholarships available for my course which was Global Business Management. I also got a scholarship because of my high grades in English in 12th class.
- There are many other scholarships that you can opt for such as sports scholarships. Some of my other batchmates got scholarships as well. The award amount for my scholarship was 20%.
