I was motivated to move ahead in tech and learn more about the emerging field of Data Science. Since I had plans to study abroad from a very young age, I started looking for the top universities. After applying with my proposal to the top universities in the UK, I got selected in 2 of the most prestigious universities. Amongst them, I decided to go ahead with the University of Glasgow because of its excellent research output in my domain. The course contents were the latest and quite daunting. And the cherry on top was the amazing city of Glasgow in the heart of Scotland.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum was really fresh and advanced, the main reason why I chose the University of Glasgow over other universities with higher rankings.
Faculty
Every student got the necessary attention on approaching. At first, the accent was a bit difficult to understand but then we got used to it and the communication went flawless. We had more than 10 faculty members helping us throughout the course and the batch size was nearly 60.
Campus Life
It's the state-of-the-art campus established in mid-1400. The campus has every possible thing a student needs. Multiple study spaces, canteens and coffee shops. The whole campus is Wifi enabled. We have 2 unions and multiple societies which gave us an amazing opportunity to socialize. The gym was amazing with a heated swimming pool and different floors for different types of workouts.
Placement
There was no campus placement. However many companies like JP Morgan and Barclays visited campus to join in the job fair held at the university.
Accommodation
The accommodation felt like a 5-star hotel with every amenities. There were people at the reception to help us, vending machines, a cinema room, a gym, and study spaces. I paid 750 GBP for a month.
Exams
- My score: IELTS 7.5, Minimum score required IELTS 7.5 - CBSE- 70% (10th) ; CBSE-92% (12th) BIT Mesra- 77% (UG); University of Glasgow- 2:1 Merit (PG) - Requirements: I had to submit my proposal which included SOP, LOR and CV. There was no interview, they only kept an introduction call for those who received the offer.
