I applied for the following universities: University of Glasgow: Accepted (Confirmed admission) University of Edinburgh: Accepted (Rejected offer) University college London: Rejected Did not get accepted into UCL as it was my first application and I hadn't quite figured out how to optimise my CV and write a compelling personal statement. It took me a while to improve my applications such that I showcased my strengths, which would enable me to excel in the programme I applied for. I really liked my course and also the tuition fee was within the range of what I could afford. The University of Glasgow has an excellent life sciences faculty with state-of-the-art infrastructure. My admission process is pretty straightforward. I had all the necessary documents ready (enlisted on the programme website), which included my CV, personal statement, degree certificate, transcripts, IELTS score, and two letters of recommendation. The eligibility criteria depend upon the specific programme one is applying to but in my case it was the following: Bachelor's degree with 55-63% aggregate English language requirements (One of the following): IELTS score of least 6.5 with no subtests below 6.0 TOEFL (ibt, mybest or at-home) score of 90 overall with Reading 20, Listening 19, Speaking 19, & Writing 21 Pearson's PTE Academic score of 59 with a minimum of 59 in all subtests Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE) and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) score of 176 overall with no subtest less than 169 Oxford English Test with an overall score of 7 with no subtest less than 6 LanguageCert Academic SELT with 70 overall with no subtest less than 60 Password Skills Plus with 6.5 overall with no subtest less than 6.0 Trinity College Tests with Integrated Skills in English II & III & IV: ISEII Distinction with Distinction in all sub-tests Completion of University of Glasgow pre-sessional courses Students who have completed their degrees in a majority-English-speaking country (as defined by the UKVI including Canada if taught in English) or have Undergraduate 2+2 degrees from a majority-English-speaking country (as defined by the UKVI including Canada if taught in English) The overall experience was quite smooth without any hiccups I applied for the September 2022 intake. I started my application in the last week of June and gathered all the documents, including LORs. I finally submitted the completed application on July 1st, 2022, which is very late compared to most applicants. I got my unconditional offer on 5th July 2022. I promptly accepted my offer and paid the 1000 GBP amount. Within the following 3 weeks I received my CAS letter for my Tier 4 (student) visa application....Read More

Well, I applied only for 6 universities, enlisting - University of Glasgow - Leeds University - University of Manchester - Kings college London - Bristol University - Durham University. I got rejection from Kings and Bristol because I applied for the fourth round( delayed submissions ) The very first acceptance was from Leeds, followed by Durham , then my Univeristy - University of Glasgow. I chose to take up University of Glasgow, as I had heard good things about its curriculum and also the friendly neighbourhood of Glasgow. (Ps- also a Harry Potter fan, it’s the Hogwarts of Scotland so little biased ) Once my Visa got processed, I got to hear back from Manchester that I got accepted so I had to leave that offer. So yes that’s how I got into my Masters journey. Decision factors : * Curriculum, Infrastructure, Alumni network, Glasgow as a friendly neighbourhood , the faculty. Admission process : Application , SOP submission with LORs, followed by acceptance letter, Deposit of admission fee and student accommodation, Visit the university for your ID Card and choosing the mode of payments if in installments or direct one time(based on each student). Once you get ID card, you will get access to your student account and timetable. The process is very smooth and straightforward, kudos to admission team. Eligibility criteria : - IELTS , (GMAT / GRE optional for Masters in Data science) - Bachelors in the field of computing science. - Work experience is appreciated. I chose this university because of its good reputation, strong infrastructure, and quality teaching. The course structure was well-organised and matched my interests. The admission process was smooth and well-guided. Overall, I had a very good experience—great faculty, useful facilities, and a supportive learning environment. I applied to 6 colleges. UCL University of Glasgow Heriot Watt University University of Leeds Loughborough University Cranfield University I got accepted at 4 universities. University of Glasgow University of Leeds Loughborough University Cranfield University I never heard back from Heriot-Watt. I got rejected from UCL because i applied very late (I applied in Feb 2021 and their admissions closed in December). Reasons for choosing the University of Glasgow : The University of Glasgow is a Russell Group university, which is equivalent to Ivy League universities in the USA. So you get better funding opportunities for research, the alumni network is better, and you get a chance to be a part of a reputable history which has once housed Nobel laureates and a university that is globally acknowledged. The course module that they were offering, especially options for dissertation, was best suited for my career goals. Also, I am a big fan of Hogwarts so studying at a university that looks like Hogwarts is a dream come true! Admission process : Needed to write a Statement of Purpose (SOP) describing my journey so far, what i want to study, why i want to study the course, what makes me the best fit for this course and university, and what my future plans are. 2 referrals from bachelor's university and 1 referral from my previous employer Marksheets of uni, 10th, and 12th. I was exempted from IELTS because i scored 94% in English from the ISC Board in my 12th. The minimum score required is 8 in IELTS. The admission process is very straightforward. They have a questionnaire that you need to fill out that can be answered from your SOP, and you need to upload all your relevant documents. They usually come back with an answer within 2 weeks. September intake, 2021 batch. The academic cycle for September intake is better. Also, you get some time to be acclimatised to the weather compared to the January intake, who arrive in deep winter, which can be a shock. I applied at the end of february. I received a response from them within 2 weeks saying that i got admission. You can apply for a scholarship after you receive an admission. They will give you a month to confirm if you want to accept the admission or not....Read More

To be honest, I chose this college in a hurry. I also got letters from the University of Edinburgh and UCL, but my financial conditions didn't allow me to join UCL as you've to show a 12.5Lakh London living allowance to join it, whereas 9.5 for the rest of the UK. Fees were bearable for UOG, So I decided to go for it. Also, I wanted a blend of Biotech and management programs, as I didn't want to pursue a PhD or research and wanted to join a biotech firm as a Project manager or in Operations, so I thought this course and this Uni would be perfect. I was motivated to move ahead in tech and learn more about the emerging field of Data Science. Since I had plans to study abroad from a very young age, I started looking for the top universities. After applying with my proposal to the top universities in the UK, I got selected in 2 of the most prestigious universities. Amongst them, I decided to go ahead with the University of Glasgow because of its excellent research output in my domain. The course contents were the latest and quite daunting.
