What Students Say
Likes
- Good and large economics department. The best offer that I had.
Required Exams for Admission
It was a good experience. Lot of learning especially informally while hanging out with top notch faculty members.
Course Curriculum
Very up to date. But PhDs are not to be done unless you are insanely intrinsically motivated to do the same.
Faculty
The faculty is large and study a diverse range of topics. Good to go to if you have unusual research interests.
Campus Life
Facilities are good. But PhD students usually lack social life and interactions
Placement
Academic market is very tough. Hence, PhDs can be very stressful. Private sector opportunities are better in the US. However, Warwick gives you space to do original research, and with an econ PhD, in the end, you will find a decent job.
Accommodation
You need to pay for it using the PhD stipend. After the first year, you need to figure it out on your own.
Exams
My GRE score 168 quant, 162 verbal. TOEFL score 110. SOP, LOR and CV submitted. By and large PhD admissions depend on who is writing your LORs, what they are writing about you and who they are connected to. Yes, one interview round. Be prepared regarding the topics to have mentioned in your sop as your research interests.
Fees
NA for a PhD
Scholarship
PhD scholarship: varied along 6 years.
