Karolinska Institute admissions are offered for Autumn and Spring intake. International students may apply for either of the two intakes. However, international students are encouraged to apply in Autumn to receive earlier decisions and get enough time for resident permit. The applications for Autumn Intake in the 2025 academic year are now closed. You can still apply for Spring intake till April 15, 2025.

To get through Karolinska Institute admissions, you need a Class 12th certificate from a certified Indian board such as CBSE/ISCE for bachelor’s and 3 or 4 bachelor's degrees for master's degree. You must also provide scores of IELTS/TOEFL for English taught courses in Autumn term. Those applying in Spring term must prove their proficiency in Swedish language as majority of courses are entirely taught in Swedish.

Karolinska Institute of Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for Karolinska University is based on applicant's academic performance, language proficiency and course rankings. All applicants are required to rank courses based on their preference.

The applications are reviewed in the order you have ranked your course choices.
Admission will be offered to those meeting the minimum requirement for the first choice based on availability.
All the lower ranked courses will be removed from the list if you are advised first choice.
If you fail to receive an admission offer for the first choice, your application will be evaluated based on remaining choices.

You can select up to 4 master’s degrees and 8 bachelors degrees while applying for admissions to Karolinska Institute.
