Campus Life

10

The campus facilities are really great. They have labs. We have access cards so, we can access the labs every time we want to. The library is also open until 10pm. But, after Covid times, it was only open until 6pm.I think, as a student we have a lot of privileges and lot of benefits. So, student life is just amazing here. They also organize a lot of seminars that are not related to academic work. For example, they sometimes organize a seminar about how to make a great CV so that you can apply for a job here in Sweden. Sometimes they arrange festivals and job fares on campus. They just want to make sure that the international students get the best of their time and also benefit everything from KTH and also from Sweden. There is a student union. It organizes a lot of events especially during the international reception. Like right now in August, where a lot of international students come to Stockholm to prepare for their studies. They also pick up the students from the airport, they help the students to get their room keys, their blankets, their everything. They also organize events such as hiking, football, museum visits, nature visits. We also have sport activities here on campus.

Placement

The jobs in Sweden are mostly related to Computer Science. As my course is in that department so, it?s not really that hard to find a job. Because of these Covid times where most companies laid off their employees so, it?s kind of challenging now. But, I think if you graduate from KTH, it?s not going to be very difficult to find a job. During my studies, I worked twice part-time. The companies in Sweden really appreciate KTH.

Accommodation

Off Campus

I was living on campus when I was there for 2 months. All the facilities were available there. The cost was $600 per month. But, now I am going to live off campus. It is the university student housing but, it's like right outside the university. Here, the cost is $1000 per month.

Exams

The application is open usually in October. I applied through University Admission portal. Then, I choose up to 3 or 4 programs and then, I heard a decision from university admission in January about which program I got admitted to. When I applied to KTH, there was no interview at all. Everything was decided based on the documents I submitted. The requirements are slightly different from one program to another. For my program, I had to submit motivation letter, cover letter, my CV and my previous bachelor?s degree. I also needed to submit two LoRs. I got one LoR from my boss at my work. The other one I got from a social organization where I worked.

Fees

SEK 310,000

Scholarship

I didn?t had to pay tuition fees because I got scholarship from the Swedish government. So, everything was covered. I also got monthly installments from them of 10,000 Kronas. That was really good. It was really sufficient for my life as a student here.
