Likes

- Apart from only studies, the management provides us with great extra curricular activities to be part in and be social.
Course Curriculum Overview
The BCA course curriculum is quite relevant and gives a good basic understanding of programming, databases, and computer applications, which is why I chose this course. It helps us the students to gain hands on experience with lots of practical oriented projects. Exams are held regularly through internals and semester exams. The difficulty level is moderate and manageable with regular study. Overall, the course is good
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internship opportunities mainly during the final year, with students encouraged to apply through both college support and external platforms. Companies offering internships are usually local IT firms, startups, and software service companies, providing roles such as web developer, software trainee, technical support, and data entry analyst. Some internships offer stipends ranging from ?5,000–?10,000 per month, while others focus more on experience and skill development. Students work on projects like website development, basic app creation, database management, and software testing. These internships help in gaining practical exposure, improving coding skills, and understanding real-world work environments before graduation.
Placement Experience
The college provides placements. Students who are in 6th semester of their degree courses are eligible for campus placements provided by the college. A lot of IT companies regularly walk in for job drive with annual package of 3-6 LPA. The college provides basic placement support, but employability mostly depends on individual skill development. After completing the degree, I plan to pursue higher studies or improve technical skills to get better career opportunities.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees paid/paying for the college is rupees 60,000 for a 3 year degree. The cultural / exam fees are to be paid to the board which we are affiliated to, which differs every semester. There are scholarships provided by the state govt. Of Karnataka, eligible students can apply. Overall, the college provides best fees structure.
Campus Life
Campus life is enjoyable and offers a good balance between academics and social activities. The college conducts annual cultural and technical fests every year, usually held between February and April, which help students showcase their talents and interact with peers. The library has a decent collection of academic books, journals, and digital resources that are easily accessible to students. Classrooms are equipped with basic technological facilities like projectors and computer labs for practical learning. Sports and extracurricular activities such as indoor games, cultural events, and competitions are regularly encouraged. Student clubs and groups organize events and activities, making campus life more interactive and helping students build confidence and teamwork skills.
Admission
St.George was my first option and I applied to the same. The college felt lively and friendly. The one you just walk in and feel home. The addmission proces was easy and basic, requires qualifications in 10th and 12th, passed. If you have scored a distinction it may be useful for fees concession. Or a merit student. Even for non-distinction students e.g, first class is a good choice in college with good fees structure.
Faculty
The faculty members in our college are generally supportive and knowledgeable, so students can easily approach teachers for doubts or guidance. Some teachers explain concepts very clearly and focus on practical understanding, which makes learning easier. The BCA course structure includes programming subjects, theory classes, lab sessions, and projects. There are internal exams, assignments, and semester exams. Exams are moderately difficult. However, students who study regularly usually pass without much trouble. Only a few students fail, mostly due to lack of preparation or attendance issues. Overall, the exam system is fair and helps in understanding both theory and practical concepts.
Night Life
Nightlife around the college is mostly calm and student-friendly rather than very active. Hostel timings are usually fixed in the evening/night, so students mostly hang out within campus or nearby cafes before closing hours. Common hangout spots include nearby food streets, cafés, and small restaurants where students relax after classes. The campus itself is safe, and the surrounding locality is generally secure to move around at night in groups. Students usually unwind by spending time with friends, having late-evening snacks, or participating in hostel activities, which adds to bonding and makes college life more enjoyable and stress-free.
