Course Curriculum Overview

2

.I honestly am not very interested in the course and still trying to adapt to it .The course would either lead you to the path of MDS in several departments and thereafter a Phd or simply a BDS degree would also make you a dentist. . The course needs more simplification and easy to understand books, easy to understand lectures and easy to follow practical work to get a knack of it. . Internal assessments are held almost once in every 2.5 to 3 months and a year end university examination that includes theory and practical exam that requires students to pass in order to be promoted to the next year. . Anatomy, Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Pharmacology are the hardest. Physiology, Microbiology and Oral pathology and Histology are the easiest.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have secured the seat under Government quota and here;in, I have mentioned the fees that I have already paid/will have to pay in the future for the entire course of BDS. Here;in,the fees also includes the scholarship amount of Rs.100000 I have secured. Here;in,the fees include costs of Dental materials, Books; 1st year fees:-Rs.250000 2nd year fees:-Rs.250000 3rd year fees:-Rs.250000 4th year fees:-Rs.250000 5th year or Internship:- free of cost .College Transport fees:- Rs.35000/year .Hostel fees:- Rs.110000/year .Fees under Government Quota:- Rs.250000 after (including a scholarship amount of Rs.100000) .Fees under Government Quota:- Rs.350000 .Fees under Management quota:- Rs 600000 .scholarships worth Rs.100000 are provided to students belonging to OBC,SC,ST,MBC,etc implying with the cast based reservations ... and the same is also provided to students as financial aid to students whose parent's have an annual income of upto Rs.250000 or less.

Campus Life

3

.Annual cultural fest YUGAM-2025 was held for the year 2025 in the month of July and cultural performances are held in festivals pertaining to Christmas, Pongal,... .The students have a very limited access to the books and journals...The Library is of no use and isn't open to students. .Talking about the technological intervention; a big touch board along with projectors are present in every class which establishes an easy to teach and easy to learn environment for teachers and students, respectively. . The saddest point is that there isn't even a single club, social group or a student portal....I hope there is one in the near future.

Admission

.Madha Dental college was my 1st preference, always as it was close to my house and I have always wanted to stay with my parents and the fees prices are also extremely feasible and affordable and I am happy for I got selected into it. .I had also applied to several other colleges that include Tagore Dental, Ragas Dental, etc...I also got accepted into Tagore Dental but chose Madha Dental college as it was always my 1st preference. .I got admission through an official counselling website i.e the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Commitee where a step by step coundelling was held to get students admitted into colleges based on their Ranks and personal preferences. .I got accepted through the NEET exam and that is the only exam to get admission in the course of BDS.

Faculty

2

.The basic teacher to student ratio yearwise is almost 1:50 .My favourite faculties include Pharmacology lecturer Dr.Vijayalakshmi, Physiology lecturer Dr.Savita Niren, Microbiology lecturers Dr.Aishwarya and Dr.Kiruthiga, Oral pathology lecturer Dr.Rajshri. They know to break down complex topics into an extremely simplified version that is easy to understand. I also like my Oral histology and Pathology lecturer Dr.Hamsini who is very patient with the students and is extremly friendly to approach and patient with students. .I dislike my Prosthodontics lecturer Dr.Vignesh who is extremely short tempered and impatient with the students and is very hard to approach.

Night Life

2

.The only hangout spot in the whole college is the canteen and Mess where people go to have their Breakfast, lunch, dinner,.... . There are no gyms, nor are their cafeterias or library for students. . No one can step out or inside of the college post 6 PM. . I do not think the locality is safe for anyone to roam around; it's located around Kundrathur, Chennai. . Hostellers can only step out of the college with prior permission from Principal and Hostel warden.

Madha Dental College and Hospital, BDS(Bachelor Of Dental Surgery)

Admission:

The college is a well known dental college in the country and not choosing it was not an option for me. The college is specialized in dental surgery and is assisted with necessary requirements to build a full-fledged expert in the field. Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) which provides you enough exposure was the greatest advantage for me. To get admission to the college one should get at least 50% marks in PCB/Biotechcombined and also you need to secure place in the merit list which is based on NEET UG dental Scorecard.
