Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was a major factor in my decision to join the course. There was both theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on skills, which I believed would be essential for my career. To some extent, the curriculum does a good job of preparing us for the real world. The core subjects were relevant and some part of the lab work gave practical experience. It might be more insightful if more updated modules on emerging technologies were provided. More digital method of teaching would be understood with ease. We have a proper exam schedule with Two mid terms and One final Semester exam. The exams are generally o moderate difficulty and are well-timed. The Final semester which consits of 5 to 6 subjects are been conducted on alternative days where we have enough time to prepare.
Placement Experience
Students from all branches become eligible for campus placement from their final year. All the branches recived a good number of drives from various companies like cognizant, Genpact, 24/7.ai, Savantis Solutions LLC, DeltaX, Aliens Group, Face Prep, Smart Brains, NCR Atleos, Nagarjuna Cements Ltd, Aertsan, Ashoka Builders, etc. Many of my friends from other branches secured good offers with moderate packages. The highest package is secured by a single person with 9LPA. The average package is 3LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Tuition fee is 30,000 per year. The registration fee was 1500. The Lab fee is 10,000. At my starting year, i paid a total amount of 48,000 including the registration. The compulsory charges were the Sem fee which is about 1950 for each sem. The management fees is different for each person based n their category. The overall fee differs from 50,000 to 80,000 per year for a management student. This overall fee includes the tution fee and lab fee. The fees of my batches were 60,000 per year to a friend and 80,000 per year to another friend. The Tutiton fee fixed to the college is 70,000 per year.
Campus Life
Campus life at my college is quite engaging. We have 2 two main annual technical fests from each campus. One is 'Avinyotsav' and the other 'Skhykr'. Also, there are other hackathons and club fests for each department. The Main technical events are generally held in the 1st half of the year (January to July). These fests have a lot of exposure, and also there is a fun space to play games. There is a wide range of books and journals available in our library. 90,000+ books, 6000+ e-books, and 150+ journals are available in our library. And there are no. of copies for each and every book. We can easily access whichever book we like. By using our library cards, we can borrow books for a limited period of time. The carpet area of the classroom is quite big enough for around 100+ students. Digital classes are sometimes provided for exposure. We have an annual sports day each year, conducted in the month of February. Students are encouraged to participate in any of the sports and in any no. of sports as well. We have NSS, NCC clubs, and RJ (run by students) as extracurricular activities. These minimal no. of clubs have a great impact on students' communication and leadership skills.
Admission
There were some other top colleges that I applied to. Firstly, i received admission to another campus of the same college. It was TKRCET's second campus. Then after my second couselling i applied to the main campus of TKRCET and fortunately, i recieved admission in this main campus. I did get rejected from other colleges because my ECET rank wasn't suffiicient to meet their Cut-off. The admission process of my college was fairly straightforward. The college accepts candidates based on their rank in the ECET entrace exam. The cutoff for my course was competitve, but my rank was within the eligibile range. The exams accepted for my course are EAMCET and ECET for B.tech qualification. The staff during the admission process were very helpful.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is quite good. The faculty are very approachable while being friendly. It helped me a lot with clarifyg doubts and getting one-on-one help. I particularly like a few professors (named : Surrender, Madhusudhan, Praveen) from Civil department. Everyone were experts in their subjects. One of the professor's teaching methods was very interesting and made me learn the subject with interest and ease. The exam system conists of Two Mid exams and one Final semster. For each year, there are two sems. Each mid exam consists of 20 marks and The Sem exam consists of 70 marks. There is each internal assignment for each mid. The internal assignment for the First Mid term is a minor test which carries 10 marks. It contains MCQ's and Fill in the blanks. The other internal assignment is for Second Mid term which is an assignment of writing the answers to the questions given by the faculty in the respective assignement books which are to be bought in the college itself. The exams were not so hard. 70 to 90 per cent of the class gets easily cleared in the examinations. The marking scheme is fair and aligned with the curriculum taught.
Night Life
The nightlife around my college campus is not active. There are quite a few restrictions. There is a gym available above of cafeteria. After the classes, students usually go to the TKR Food Court ( cafeteria), parking space, and basketball ground for hanging out. There's so much space to sit around the campus, so people usually roam through the TKCET Society or sit and chat for a while. The hostel gates are closed by 6 pm. The library is open until 5:30 pm. The campus timings are 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
