Course Curriculum Overview
Comparatively, the courses being offered by this policing and national security university, prepares an individual in a holistic outlook, a more realistic world inclination rather than the traditional aspect of curriculums. The political exposure, the exposure to national and international arena in way of conferences, seminars and so on, the status of the university being an institution of National Importance, and under MHA, GoI etc. influenced me massively to pursue this course. The prime aspect can be that of its diverse learning orientation and the path towards reformation, security management, policing, criminal justice, legal sync and son on.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are more inclined towards policing firms, policing and defence organisations, government organisations, research firms and organisation, private sectors, NGOs, private industries and corporations etc.
Placement Experience
Campus placement in such field are often tough as such fields are not the ones which are developed from ages, possessing a traditional aspect. They are the ones which are developing higher and definitely the job employment in such a budding field aim to achieve a rise in the upcoming ages. Yes, the placement rate can be low but definitely the field is promising if one prioritises growth, development and learning. Placement rate can be termed around 60-70% with monthly payment of 40-50000 rupees.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees I paid for the course I opted was around 50,000 rupees only; which was to be paid in 2 parts belonging to two different semesters in an annual year. The caution fees paid was only at the start of the course which was around 10,000 rupees only. The semester fees in this regard is a consolidated fees which covers all other fees such as the tuition fees, lab fees, development fees and so on. Only from the past one year a medical insurance fees is being taken which accounts to 2000 rupees per semester as the university fosters and encourages practical and field training by visits and long trips (exception: minimum amount of additional charges are taken if needed, only for long trips which is held once or twice in the span of 3-4 years course. Further 2 types of scholarship is offered by the university itself, that is educational based and second is family annual income based which further reduces the semester fees partially. Even different types of scholarships are permittable for SC, ST, OBC and EWS sections, which reduces acts as compensation for their semester and hostel fees cumulatively.
Campus Life
Gujarat can be termed as a hub of festivals and so can my university being, as it encourages the diversity and celebration of each and every festival in India. Library of RRU can be said to be a mini hub for each and everyone. It possesses the online as well as offline facilities ranging from several books, journals to newspapers. Sports and extracurricular activities is highly prioritised in RRU and the students are encouraged and trained for the same to achieve the national and international medals. Even several alumni falls in this category. Yes, there are different student run clubs which contribute to each and every categorised activity in the university.
Admission
The current admission process to this institution comprises of an interview round and written examination, along with highest education scores. Personally, I opted for this college only as I was determined to pursue my career in the field of government service and public policies. This course was the only one I believed that could nuture my development and aid my holistic growth in the field I wanted to go, after moving from a bio-science with maths background in my 12th and scoring a good percentile of around 90.
Faculty
The faculties in my university were quite generous, approachable, empathetic and a mentor and leader in need and path of puzzle-locked routes. The faculties are like a guardian in my university who possess a friendly nature with a mix of strictness in order to merge and help in growth simultaneously. The examination system of a 4-years course posses 8 semesters, which further has a set of core papers which are maximum of 4 and 8 credits and then around 32 credits and individual needs to gain from outside their own school which offers their course (4credits for Ability Enhancement Paper, 4credits for Skill Enhancement Paper, and a total of 24 credits for Open Paper) which further boosts knowledge and expansion of knowledge (general over specific). The exam level is in the range of moderate to tough and it can be feasible for students to pass if they atleast cover the syllabus completely or have an active participation in class.
Interview Experience
Yes, I faced the interview round. The interview round comprises of generic at the same time self intriguing questions in order to collect complete information about an individual and marks hum to be fit or unfit for the journey.
Night Life
24-hours Library facilities is offered, along with 24-hours eating facilities during examination and multiple cafeteria exist in the premises, including stationaries and general stores in order to fulfill the need of all. Even gym, both open and close ones are there within the premises which modernised equipments and trainers. In the terms of sports, I even want to add about the Olympic centre which is highly growing and achieving its success extensively. Hostel and campus timings- one can't enter the campus between 8pm and 6am (exceptions on genuine request basis exist).
