Course Curriculum Overview

4

As a BCA student at Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, I'd rate the course curriculum as fairly relevant and comprehensive. Influencing Aspects: The inclusion of subjects like Python, Data Analytics, and aligns well with current tech trends and was a big factor in choosing this course. Real-World Prep: The curriculum is a good mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which helps in preparing for real-world IT jobs. Subjects like database management and programming are particularly useful. Improvement Areas: The curriculum could be updated more regularly to include emerging technologies Teaching methods could be more interactive, with more hands-on sessions or projects to apply learning. Exams: Exams are held at the end of each semester, which is fairly standard The difficulty level may vary, but with proper preparation it is manageable some subject can be more challenging, especially if they are less practical and more theory-based.

Admission

I opted for Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth because of its solid reputation good curriculum and strong industry connections among other colleges TMV had a better balance of academics and practical exposure to programming languages and data analytics. I had applied to Symbiosis and Ferguson also but chose TMV due to the reasonable fees and because the faculties here are helpful and approachable. TMV Admission Process: Eligibility: Completion of 12th with 50% marks(or equivalent) for BCA. Exam Accepted: TMV conducts its entrance exam or accepts scores from MHSET and CUET. Cutoffs: Different every year depending on the exam and the applicant pool, but TMV is generally more lenient than top-tier colleges. Experience: The process was pretty straightforward. I filled out the application took the entrance exam, and waited for the results. The faculty were very helpful during the whole process.

Night Life

4

Nightlife around TMV is pretty quiet, but there are a few ways students unwind: On-Campus: The hostel is open till late, and students tend to hang out in common areas or the cafeteria(usually closes by 9-10 PM). The gym is available for evening workouts, but it closes around 8 PM. The library closes early, around 6-7 PM, so not much studying happens after that. Off-Campus: Popular hangout places such as FC Road(with cafes, and eateries) and Koregaon Park are within walking distance for late-night food chilling. Deccan Gymkhana area is also popular for students looking for a quieter spot. Safety: The location is generally safe with students often seen walking or driving around till late. There places help us relax and bond with friends after a day of studying, making college life more enjoyable!

Placement Experience:

Our college typically initiates campus placements from the 5th semester. Companies like Infosys and Wipro, TCS, Capgemini, etc. do come to campus and the average packages are around ?3-4 LPA and the highest can be around ?7-8 LPA depending on the student, their skills, and matching requirements. Around 60-70% of students get placed while adhering to the eligibility criteria and have taken the placement training sufficiently. Personally, I am currently focus on being better at my technical skills and wish to pursue an opportunity as a software developer following my graduation.

I chose this course because game development seemed facinating to me. But after studying for few months, I lost my interest completely. The method of teaching is TRASH. Faculty : student ration is 1:30. For the Pune branch only 1 exam will be conducted at the end of the each sem(6 semesters = 6 exams) i.e end semester exam. Questions are asked from what is taught in the class or from given study material
