Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course offers us a wide range of knowledge on basic topics and they also offer us basic knowledge about the constitution and society. The additional language and other languages offered helps us to communicate better in real world as it helps us get confident with our communication. The extra curricular activities takes place between the working hours which is a little distrubing so it would be better to keep the extra curricular activities after the regular classes . The teachers can implement modern ways of teaching such as ppt presentation etc to grab students attention more than usual. The exams takes place with a gap of 1 month and the level of exam is medium.

Internships Opportunities

4

Cognizant, manyatha tech , deccan herald etc are few companies which offer internship in our college and the roles offers are usually to work under a project manager or make annual reports and the stipend is upto 5000.

Placement Experience

4

Yes, the college does offer placements to students. From the 4th semester which is the 3rd year the students get eligible for campus placement. cognicant, jp morgan are few of the companies that visited the college. The highest package was 8 lakh per annum and the average pack is 5 lakh. The percentage of students getting placements are around 80 to 95%. Since I am doing my CA course ,my plans after degree is to do my articleship.

Fees and Financial Aid

To begin with the annual college fees for the professional bcom batches it would be upto 75,000 and I have opted for the CA batch along with bcom so my fees comes upto 90,000. Coming to the scholarship, there are various scholarship schemes just as vidyaspoorthi, sports scholarship etc which comes upto 5,000 of reduction in fees or 5,000 in cash. 1 certificate course has to chosen every year and the fees of the course depends on the course you've chosen ,it ranges from 500 to 2500. I have payed my entire feed which is 90,000 and my fees for my additional english classes which is 75,000 and every year the fees increases by 6,000. For the regular bcom batches the fees would be 55,000 and for bba batches it would be 55,000 as well. For the additional english classes 75,000 has to be paid by all students who opt for this language irrespective of the stream they choose.

Campus Life

4

The overall experience of the campus life is quite decent. There are annual sports meets and many other events such as musical day , ethnic day , degree day etc where students showcase thier talents. The college library is very big and has all kinds of books starting from dictionerys to guides to novels evrything is available in the college library. The colleges provides us with huge and clean classrooms with a smart board and projectors. The classrooms are cleant every single day. The colleges provides great opportunity for athletes. Various sports activities are held often to encourage the students. There are social groups such as SAHAAYA in which students compulsorily have to finish 30 hours of service every year by visiting orphanages, old age homes , beach cleaning drives etc. 1 rupee donation is done every Wednesday and the fund collected is provided to the government schools. There is an official student portal called student connect and pacyfica. The students connect allows us to see our attendance, assessment marks and also give feedback.

Admission

I chose this college because of the wide range of facilities it offers to us . The balance between academics and extra curricular is perfect. I did not apply to any other colleges since I was very clear of joining this college. I applied for this college and within a span of 20 days I was called for an interview where I was asked to answer a small test on basic knowledge and then we went on with the document submission in hard copy and the admission was done. The eligibility criteria for the students choosing professional batch was 80% and the students choosing regular batches was 60%.

Faculty

3

The faculty and students have a friendly relationship and they are very approachable. We can freely give out our opinions to them without any hesitation. I loved the commerce faculty and the lectures who takes up accounts. They are very kind and thier teaching is very good. They take up extra classes for the weak students which helps them to score good grades. I do not like the English faculty as they take a lot of leaves and the syllabus is lagging behind. There are 4 internal every year and 2 semesters. 2 internals happen before the 1st semester and 2 internals before the 2nd semester. The internal is for 50 marks and semester is for 60 marks. The exams are usually not that difficult and all the questions are within the syllabus. Around 10 students fail to clear the exams.

Night Life

5

The colleges offers a good gym with good gym equipment promoting good health for the students. The cafeteria offers good and hygienic food. The variety of dishes is also wide. The library has a lot of informative as well as entertaining books. The college hostel is known to be one of the best since it provides students a homely feeling. The students have to leave the colleges campus by 5 30 pm. There is a church inside the college which is a very famous one. It is in the list of top best churches in the world. The locality is very decent and safe.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
