Course Curriculum Overview
The course provides great job opportunities in the production and nutrition sector. A master's degree in clinical nutrition is often done by the students. The college conducts two internal assessments before the semester
Fees and Financial Aid
As a first year student, it approximately only costs about 70,000. For the 1st semester, the admisison fee costed Rs.500, tuition fees- 11,800 Rs, special fees- 9500, library deposit- 500rs, lab deposit- 1000rs, project deposit- 1500 rs, university fee- 855 rs, development fee- 5000 All put together, the 1st semester added up to 30,655 rs for the course in year 2024-25 the total fee for the second semester considering all the factors costed around 26,200 rupees.
Campus Life
The college has an actively participant ncc and nss team, a decently spacious library with great diversity in genre and references provided, frequent co cirricular activites, and annual cultural events like abhilasha for the freshers, jhankar as the mega intercollege cultural event, and VISH. The classrooms are comfortable and offer great ventilation and projectors for efficient teaching
Admission
Neighbouring colleges like stella maris, wcc, loyola, and other colleges such as ethiraj offer similar courses, but MOP excels in the exposure and academic flexibility offered to the students. Just like these colleges, MOP does not conduct a specific entrance for any degree as such.
Faculty
The department of food science consists of 8 professors of great qualification and interesting publication work. The faculty is truly inspiring and has always been instilling a research-oriented mindset in the students. They also create great burning desire to excell academically, as well as outside the college premisis. The Head of Department for our B.Sc Food Science and Management programme Ms. Sini Jadeesh and Professor Dr. Sarah Jane Monica are kind, helpful, motivating and guiding throughout the year. There are 5 subjects each semester, and the degree being eligible to students from all educational backgrounds post Class 12, is structured in a way that it is friendly to all. However if doubts and concepts concerning physiology and chemistry are not clarified on a regular basis, there may be academic complications to those of the commerce stream
Night Life
The college timings for the first shift are 7:45 am to 12:30pm,with easy access to public transport around the area. There are no internal hostel facilities. However, the college offers a highly green and ventilated tiny campus at the entrance, and a food court that offers great quality food, and a huge ground.
