What Students Say?
Likes
- The online student portal provides access to the learning management system which has amazing Econtent and Etutorials apart from live online classes.
- There are 3 live online doubt clearing sessions weekly which help clarify concepts and enhance understanding.
Dislikes
- There is always some network issue on the faculty's side during the live online classes which breaks the flow of the class and hence leads to loss of time.
- Also, in the discussion forum, the peers or fellow batchmates sometimes give wrong answers to the questions asked which leads to confusion.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have a keen interest in coding and the course covers many languages like Python, C, HTML, Javascript, CSS and MySQl. It also covers tools and packages like Oracle, Visual Studio, PostgreSQL, eclispse, Android Studio and Code blocks. We have got virtual labs called Unext labs where they teach us how to code. The course prepares us very well for the real-world applications and further academic pursuits. I believe there so no improvement needed in the course curriculum but for the teaching methods, the faculty should become more professional and make the class interesting by playing quizzes and interacting with the students more. The first semester is stil not over as I said previously so I have no idea about the difficulty and format of the question paper.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees of the course year-wise: 1st year fees: Rs. 45000 2nd year fees: Rs. 45000 3rd year fees: Rs. 45000 Fees I am paying after being awarded the scholarship: 1st year fees: Rs. 38250 2nd year fees: Rs. 40500 3rd year fees: Rs. 40500 Registeration fees: Rs. 500 Since it is an online course the labs are held virtually and there is no development fee. The whole fee for the 3 year program is Rs. 1,35,000 (this includes the virtual lab fees). The website nor does the counsellor mentioned about the lab fees separately. Fees my batchmates are paying: Batchmate 1: 1st year fees: Rs. 40500 2nd year fees: Rs. 40500 3rd year fees: Rs. 40500 Batchmate 2: 1st year fees: Rs. 38250 2nd year fees: Rs. 40500 3rd year fees: Rs. 40500 Most of the students are paying same fees as Batchmate 1. Scholarships available for students are early bird discount which offers 10% scholarship that is 10% off on each semester. Also there is a merit scholarship that is 10% off on only one semester if you have scored more than 80% in your class 12th board exams. There are a total of 6 semesters in the whole program and one semester is of 6 months, that is 2 semesters comprise of 1 year.
Campus Life
My course is online so we only have classes and webinars. But we are allowed to visit the campus antime in Jaipur. I visited the campus once last month and the infrastructure was great. The batchmates can only ask questions on the discussion forum and not chit chat. We have an online library there are a lot of ebooks there. It is an amazing online library. There are student-run social groups but they are only meant for offline students/campus students.
Admission
I wanted to go to an online college and out of all the colleges offereing online courses this was the best in terms of faculty, content and curriculum. I also applied to Delhi University. I got into one of the colleges of DU but the faculty and infrastructure was not good at all, therefore I left the idea of going there. For my college the admission process is very easy. Firstly, no CUET score is required only the 12th board marks are required (40%+ is the criteria). Also we have to submit documents like 12th mark sheet, aadhar card copy, address proof, character certificate and we get a bonafide certificate and college ID in return.
Faculty
The faculty to student relationship is not much because the classes are online and during the live class we are not allowed to switch on our mics and cameras. We can only ask the queries in the chat box. The faculty I liked: 1. Mr. Abhishek Pandey: He makes the classes very engaging with live quizzes and he explains the concepts in a very fun way which makes studies interesting. 2. Dr. Shakti Kundu: He is also a very good teacher. He answers all our queries and he knows the art of teaching very well. The faculty I disliked: 1. Dr. Vimal Kumar Joshi: He is very strict. if he explains a concept and a student asks to re-explain, he would ask him/her to go and watch the recording. He won't explain it again. 2. Dr. Santosh Kumar Henge: There is always some network issue with his device and also he does not know english well which leads to break of the flow and confusion among students. There is a term end exam after every semester. There are a total of 6 term-end exams. There are also practicals and term end exams after every semster for every subject. We do not have mid-semester exams. I am still in my first-year and the first semester is not over yet. So, I have no idea about the difficulty of exams.
Night Life
My course is online hence I do not know about the night life of the students living in the hostels at the campus or even the day scholars of Manipal University Jaipur. I beieve Jaipur is a very beautiful city and there might be places near the college to hang out though I visited the college during day and what I saw was that the shops and markets were nearby and the environment was very good. All the basic needs of the hostellers were easily avalaible nearby.
