What Students Say
Likes
- CONVENIENCE- So basically you can choose the time and day you want to give exams and also study according to your pace. There are live lectures, pre-recorded sessions, e-tutorials and e-books. Evrything is online and you can study at convinience
- TIME SAVING - if you are someone like me who is busy doing some job or other type of education this is literally the best way to do your degree. The study material is easy to understand (difficulty level is maintained though) and saves so much time
- TRAVEL FREE- you don't have to travel hours just to reach college. It's online and you can attend lectures, give exams everything at the comfort of your home. Personally I live far for from Mumbai so this was a really good decision to study online
Dislikes
- LIVE LECTURES - the live lectures give you very summarised knowledge of the subject and not that detailed so sometimes it becomes difficult to read e-content by yourself and figure out things.
- EXAM REQUIREMENTS - you need laptop, webcame, mic evrything for exams and the examination software is extremely strict. I had to install a light right in front of face so that it understands I am looking into camera. the light hurts so much
- FEES- I think it's little too costly than local colleges nearby but also justified at the same time
Course Curriculum Overview
I have been interested in business since childhood and buisness administration bachelors from online manipal offered all the relevant subject and knowledge related to it. So far I have completed 2 sems from which I got lot of theory knowlege with industry level examples given. I would still emphasize on lack of detailed teaching by the faculty. We have not had practical exams yet but in my knowledge there are in next few sems. Exams are for every semester so therefore 6 exams. You can choose time and date of your exam according to your convinience so that's a good part.
Internships Opportunities
I am not sure which companies and roles are offered as I am just completed my first year so we are not introduced yet to placement opportunities but from my reasearch some top hirers of BBA gracucates include Accenture Deloitte State Bank of India Tata consultancy services Capgemini Microsoft etc.
Placement Experience
From the information given, placements generally happen after you pass and clear all your size semesters. I am not very much aware about the companies but according to my friends manipal has top companies in their placement opportunities. Highest package would be arround 15,00,000 lacks per annum from what I found out from friends but personally I did not see anything about it on the official website. My plans after degree are pursuing masters and not go for placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
1) I am paying semester wise fees There are 6 semesters Each semester we have to pay Rs. 22,500 adding up to 45,000 yearly. Which means the entire course costs around 1,35,000. 2) There are no other extra fees except for these 3) I also got 10 percent merit based scholarship. There are number of scholarships available though like 20% for divyaang (for persons with disabilities), defence personnel, MUJ alumni and 10% for government employees, merit (80% and above in class 12/10+3 diploma exams) and Other concessions on fee too.
Campus Life
There are lots of events held even for online students. The orientation or the send offs are held online. Webinars are conducted often on various topics. Reference awards for students on each admission. A news letter named "The UNiversal" is sent quote a few times through mail.
Admission
I didn't apply to any other colleges. I wanted to be an airhostess so I gave interview at frankfinn institute and got selected for the diploma in aviation, hospital, travel and management. The institute was really far for my city so I had to travel 2 hours back and forth so it would consume most of my day. This is why I decided to go for online degree. I didn't apply to any other colleges. Straight up applied to manipal online, completed the admission process and continuing studying there.
Faculty
The faculty is qualified and experienced in their respective fields. The live lectures are engaging and they solve doubts although I would agree that they do not cover much of the syllabus like I mentioned earlier. I liked most of the faculty although I am not aware of their names as they change for every semester in every subject. Course is made to align with industry standards and elective options to choose your best interests. Each semester has 5-6 subjects on average. The examination is of 100 marks. 30 marks for internal assignments and 70 marks for theory exams in which 20 marks for MCQ, 20 marks for short answers and 30 marks for long answers. I have personally managed to score above merit in my semesters with average amount of studying but I am not aware about other students as it's online and there's no face to face interaction about how my friends or colleagues might be performs so I only gave information about my marks.
