What Students Say
Likes
- The college is situated inside city in ramapuram which is the main plus point as your transportation cost is reduced. College bus is not mandatory and if you require you can opt it.
- Placements are relatively good. But it is about you whether you get a good package or not. Companies range from 3 LPA - 40 LPA but the mean and median are at 4-5 LPA. But the college provides oppurtunity for you by bringing many companies.
- The college is liberal and is not very strict unlike other colleges. The boys to girl ratio will be around 60:40 (Boys:Girls). The campus life is amazing.
Dislikes
- The sports facilities are very less. They donot have proper infrastructure such as big ground. But there are basket ball court, volleyball court. The sports team is active but not much support in terms of infrastructure.
- The college follows timetable structure instead of having predetermined number of classes for a particular subject. For example it can give the number of classes fixed and attendance based on that so that rest of the times is available for students.
- The college follows strict dress code in the first year after that it is little liberal but not a dress code free culture.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose electronics and instrumentation as it is niche field. The college offered several trainings apart from curriculum like external trainings from National instruments, yokogawa where they prepared us for real world applications. Course curriclum is good and comprehensive. Teaching methods can be improved in terms of incorporating more practical oriented teachings. There are morning tests everyday, then internal assessment twice a semester and a model exam before the semester.
Internships Opportunities
I got internship in Johnson controls company. The stipend was 10000 a month. The internship is offered to many students during 6th and 7th semester and it ranages from 2-3 months. The stipend ranges from 5000-12000 a month. Each year the companies differ and it depends upon the company to allocate the students in their projects for diverse works.
Placement Experience
The placement starts from 7th semester of the final year. The college handles the placement process. During my time around 20-30 companies came to my department and almost 90% of the students were placed. Highest package of my department - 8 LPA Lowest package of my department - 3 LPA Mean package of my department - 3.5 LPA Overall college placement was also good around 90% My plan was to join a company after college then work for 3-4 years then do my PG.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is for fees through councelling via anna university Tuition fees: 45000-55000 Placement fees: 18000-25000 Book fees: 15000-20000 Registration fees: 5000 (One time) Development fees: 20000 Management Quota fees: Tuition fees: 85000 Other fees reamins the same
Campus Life
The college has a lot of clubs including YRC, NSS, Rotract club, Science Association, Maths Association etc. The college conducts annual cultural event called Talentia which is an inter departmental fest. The college also conducts a freshers fest called Swagat every here where freshers showcase their talents. The inter departmental sports fest Aadukalam is also conducted each year. The college has a big central library 2 floors with 70000+ books and lot of ejournals. Apart from this each department has its own library.
Admission
I applied through anna university councelling. My cut off marks was 192.75/200. I was sure that i was able to able to get into this college with my cutoff. The main reason for choosing this college is that it is inside city and it is very accessible. Lot of time and money is saved. Also that the college is good in terms of placements. There are two ways of getting admission in easwari engineering college. One is through councelling via anna university adn other is management quota for which one need to directly approach college.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is around 15-18 across various departments. The relationship between is students and faculties are very good. They help in all possible ways. But very few faculties are proactive where as the other faculty expects pro activeness from students. One thing i didnt like about the college is that they keep a lot of tests like morning test, retest etc...i feel i=they can keep only internal assement test twice every semester to decide on internal marks.
Night Life
There is no such thing as night life in the college as most the people are day scholars. People who are from other cities usually prefer outside PGs instead of hostel since hostel is bit expensive. The campus timings is 8 -5 pm after which proper reason is needed for getting inside college. Hostel timings is upto 8pm in the night after which proper reason is required for going out and coming in.
