What Students Say
Likes
- I love the canteen's food, it's clean, hygienic and tasty.
- Library is well maintained and the librarians are also friendly
- Attendance is not strict though they would say 75% is mandatory, they'll just make you sign that you won't do it again.
Dislikes
- I hate how they deceive students into telling they are going to give some subjects when they don't. I came into this college cause syllabus specifically mentioned I had choice but I had to forcefully study subjects without any choice.
- Some of the faculties are too cocky of themselves they think they know better just because they have read 2 or 3 books more than junior staff but believe me an xyz tech youtube would have more knowledge then them.
- Ptm's, like why do a college have ptm's?! I am earning myself, my parents are mostly busy in their businesses and our of nowhere they get a call because I was using phone in class like wtf.
Course Curriculum Overview
I rate it 2/10 Only reason I choose it because I wanted to go into cybersecurity and there is no specific bachelors degree specifically for cyber security in India so I choose this course in the hopes that they'll teach this subject in the second year they denied and told some bs like atleast 20 students have to opt cyber to get it, we managed to convince 20 students by putting in hours. Second year was just started and fees portal was open college said that we are finding faculty for cyber and you are having your subject, we were happy 2 months passed by and then higher authorities of the college made pressure on mentors that why are students repelling? And they should take data science or ai and not take cyber security of software development. You had the idea what type of college this is. Next part: If you follow this curriculum you won't be able to even create a portfolio using html, css and js frameworks like react, nextjs and spring boot sounds like some high tech stuff and the higher staff is just so damn concerned with marks like I don't have time for human values and ethics I am on internship saving myself from the humiliation I would be in the name of a developer or engineer. They should be transparent about there policies and curriculum. They should be clear that this is not a college but a school. Exams are easy but sometimes I feel they choose the most hottest and coldest days of the year for the exam and not just that they choose a place that is not even in Delhi for exams.
Internships Opportunities
There is an internhub which gives you opportunity to enroll for tier 1, 2, 3 companies once an year. You have to pay approx 100 ruppes. These are mostly startups but sometimes there are big mncs/ companies like decathlon too. Packages are averagish ranging from 5k-20k. There are unpaid internship offers too. I got once selected in a startup as fullstack developer but the company backed and selected no one from the college.
Placement Experience
There are placements but the placement board showing 90% or 100% placements is kind of misleading, first of all not all students are allowed to sit in placements. Second, details should be more clear that If a student gets placed and looses his job in the next 2-3 months it shouldn't be considered and placement at college campus itself shouldn't be counted.
Fees and Financial Aid
It was 1.2 lakh at the time of admission and 1.18 for the 2 remaining years so a total of 2.56 lakh. No I did not apply for any scholarship nether the college's faculty provide us with any details at the time of admission if college gives any kind of scholarship.
Campus Life
We have clubs, though only 1st year can get in (I kind of have an idea why) There are sports club too like for cricket and table tennis. There is internhub where you can participate for internships and jobs (kind of job)
Admission
I wanted to go to vips but my rank my 1173. I went to jims to see the infrastructure and talk to people they sounded nice but when I saw the ranking IITM Janakpuri was ranking higher so I thought why not this. I got my answer ????
Faculty
Like 60% of the the faculty is just like I don't want to deal with them I just agree and move on and it's kind of a mutual understanding, 30% is just pure evil, and 10% of the faculty is understanding and supportive they are angels but at the wrong place. Course is outdated, and just so basic that anyone could learn it in a month from youtube. They tell you at the time of admission that you'll be having the subject when you just don't. They'll give you evs but won't let you study programing or core cse related subjects. These are the people tech field is filled with below avg students. They show big numbers, teach you easy subjects, students think life is good and boom you are the one in layoffs and you are now job less for years. Exams are fairly simple and easy and a monkey can pass them.
Night Life
There are plenty of gyms around college, there are good restaurants in Tilak Nagar (it is famous for it) which is nearby. Morning shift starts at 8:30 evening at 9:30 though it's not fixed and can change with year. It is not exactly safe at daytime hard to say anything about night. Many of my friends vehicles got stolen and it is just considered normal there.
