- The college location is very beautiful, it has functioning department as well as hospital with both IPD and OPD services. Some department are lagging in faculty but overall it is managable
- The interaction with teachers, seniors and juniors is quite enjoyable, we tend to learn alot from them. Hostel boarders enjoy more social interaction.
Dislikes
- Insufficient teachers, lack of extracurricular activities.
- Low patient flow in hospital, some department provides with no clinical classes
Course Curriculum Overview
I am a student of Bams, the approach of Ayurveda is very holistic and aims to cure the disease and not the symptoms. The course might need adaptation in the beginning. 2 terminal exams are held ever year along with the final exams. Teachers take test on regular intervals.
Internships Opportunities
A stipend of 23,500 is paid to interns working in the hospital. The students can also apply for various research projects under the ministry. Regular health camps are also held to help the students get more patient exposure
Fees and Financial Aid
Bams is a courelse for 4.5 years and 1 year compulsory Internship. We have to pay 20,500 for each 4 years. There are no scholarship provided by the Institute but a student can apply for the same through their respective states.
Campus Life
College week is held almost every year with various indoor and outdoor sports, cultural activities, literary events along with freshers to the new batch. The Institute also celebrate Various festivals like Saraswati puja, Ayurveda Day, Annual day etc. The classes are provided with smart boards and projectors.
Hostel Facilities
Each Hostel room is allotted to 2 people. The room consists of 2 beds with mattress 2 tables and 2 chairs. 2 Almirah are also provided. Along with a small balcony and a common balcony. The food served is average in taste. The Mess fess is around 4500 and room rent is around 1200 / month.
Admission
Admission is done through NEET Exams for ug courses. Eligibility is after 12 th. I was alloted a seat here through AIQ of ayush counselling and chosed this Institute as it is a autonomous central institute under ministry of ayush.
Faculty
The faculty members are very approachable, kind and Down to earth. There are usually 2 terminal exams and one final exam for each year. The exams are of medium level difficult. The students failing the exams are very few.
Night Life
College has a common cafeteria for Patients and students, a library consisting of books of both Modern and Ayurveda. Hostel is available for both boys and girls with reasonable mess charges and room charges. There are not many places near the college to hangout.
