Course Curriculum Overview

4

I had to settle down and get into my studies as my classes were getting more difficult. This is where I realized how interested I really am in engineering and how much I wanted to pursue my career. My friend and I used to stay on campus until 2 or 3 am, sometimes even 4 am, every single night just to study to make sure we aced our classes. I would work hard and diligently, but it was insane. I would drive to school to work (I have an on-campus job), go to my classes, stay to study, eat somewhere in between all of those activities, go home, sleep, wake up, shower, repeat. This was my schedule for 32 weeks (two 16 week semesters).

Placement Experience

3.5

The way you apply will be influenced by the purpose of the work placement. If it's part of your course, opportunities will be arranged on your behalf so you may be able to bypass the application process. Alternatively, if you're arranging your own placement, companies may require you to complete a formal online application detailing what you could bring to the role. Applying for a work placement can be as competitive as applying for a permanent job, with many companies now holding formal interviews and assessment centre days. It's therefore essential that before you apply you thoroughly research the company and the role.
