Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is diverse. It is not just physical geography or just human geography. It is a mixture of both and there are research methods taught as well. The practical classes are amazing and very fun to learn. I personally found the teaching methods good. It was never just PPTs or books. It was always practical or example based which made it easier to understand. The examination is always for about 3 hours and it is not that difficult is you study properly.
Internships Opportunities
There were no such internship opportunities or projects introduced to us during this time frame. As I mentioned, the extracurricular activities in this college is not upto the mark at all. I am unaware of any such opportunities since it was not provided in our department.
Placement Experience
The placement however here is not much efficient. It is good for the Business background students because most of the opportunities come for them. We only got one opportunity but since my plans was to complete further studies, I didn't sit for any placement opportunities.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did my post-graduation from this college and I paid around ?44000 for the first year and around ?42000 in the second year. Every other fees are included in this except for the examination fees which is around ?800-?1000 each semester. The fees for the local students of Maharashtra however is half of what the students from outside of Maharashtra is paying. It is around ?22000-?25000 every year. There are different scholarships available but most of it was mainly for the local students.
Campus Life
The campus life is a little boring here. I did my UG in Delhi so if I have to compare, it's dull. Specially if you are a Non-Maharashtra student, it's more difficult to get involved with anything here. Throughout the 2 years of my master's, I didn't get involved with any clubs but the department festival here is nice so that was the only good opportunity for me to do something apart from studies here.
Admission
I didn't apply to any other college for my Master's. I will be completely honest, this college was very last minute and I got to know from one of my relatives that it's a good college. The admission process is very simple and the Head of the Department is very helpful throughout this process. They check the eligibility at first and once it's done all I have to do is complete my application form and pay the fees.
Faculty
In my department, there is around 4 faculty members. They however are very friendly and helpful. They are always approachable and we can ask their help anytime. I don't have just one favourite faculty, all of them are amazing. They are very talented and knowledgeable. There are 4 semesters so we gave 4 semesters exams and one midterm exam each. Almost all of the students cleared the exams except for the irregular students.
Night Life
I was not in hostel so I'm unaware the life here. There is only one cafe which is pretty overpriced and the coffee is the only thing I tried here. However, there are a few places near the college which are very famous and well known. The food outside is quite reasonable and I preferred those only.
