Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum though well designed and relevant to course there are some subjects which have a little outdated syllabus and I think can ve updated. The exams are mostly easy to medium and can be cleared by anyone with little effort and enthusiasm towards the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
Course Fees is paid semester vise Fees for odd semesters is- 80250(approx.) Fees for even semesters is- 70250(approx.) Although I am a day scholar but i know from friends that hostel fee is paid once a year with the fees of odd semester and is around 25000.
Campus Life
There are couple of good events that are organized annually in our college like there is a Teej festival celebration and Dandiya Night during Navratri. There are also the freshers and farewell parties organized by college students. The library is good and all of the books for courses are available and there is also a wide range of other books related to skill and overall development available in campus library. There are a total of 3 libraries on campus. There is a main central library, then there is a Textile library for students of textile branches and finally there is Management library for students in Management courses. There is an annual sports meet organized by aur college and some small scale sports competitions are organized by college socities. There are many student run societies in aur college. Some are tech societies, some are cultural societies and some are sports societies. All these societies create a healthy competitive environment on campus. Overall social life in TIT I would say is average at best. There is no fest organized by our college and there is a lot of interference from upper management and budget restrictions in events that happen.
Admission
I applied for Delhi Technical Campus Noid which is an IPU college and I got admission in CS Branch there as well. I chose this college as it was in the city where I was already living. I also applied for other IPU colleges but my JEE rank wasn't good enough to get in those colleges. There is no particular eligibility criteria for admission. You must be 12th passed obviously and that is it.
Faculty
The faculties are very experienced and most of the professors hold Phd. and have experience of atleast 20 years. They are very chill with students and are eager to help in any way possible. The facult to student ratio is around 10:1 which is quite good. My personal favorite faculties are Dr. Akhil Kaushik sir, Dr Rajeev Sharma sir, Dr. Anil Sachdeva Sir and Dr. Amit Manocha Sir. All of these professors have helped me alot in my college life and hav inspired me to work hard towards my goals. Their guidance have led me to gain important insights into my goals amd career opportunities. Their are no particular faculties that I don't like as all of them are extremely experienced and qualified in their respective subjects. There are total of 8 semesters in BTech. There are 4 subjects in the first 2 semesters i.e total 8 subjects in first year and from second year onwards till third year there are 12 subjects meaning 6 subjects each semester. In the final year there are total 7 subjects with 4 being in 7th and 3 in 8th semester. There are two mid sem exams or as we call th periodicals which can vary from 15 to 30 marks depending upon the professor and then there are end sems aur final exams which are of 75 marks per subject 25 marks are awarded by professors teaching you that subject. Then there are practical labs for 2 subjects each semester in the first year, 4 subjects per semester in the second and third year and 1 to 2 subjects in each semester in the final year. Practical exams are held before end sems in even semesters and after end sems in odd semesters. The consist of 50 marks total out of which 25 are given by internal teachers and other 25 by external examiners. All the subjects are common for all the streams in first year and then core subjects for chosen stream from second year onwards. The curriculum is very relevant to the chosen course.
Night Life
The night life is ok. There are no food joints or all night canteens on campus. During daytime TIT Junction is a good hangout place where you can chill with your friends during break or free lectures. Also a good hangout spot is main college canteen which is only open from 9 am to 5 pm. Hostel cutoff timings are 6 pm for girls and 10 pm for boys although boys can freely roam around boys hostel anytime of the night. Girls need permission even to get out of campus and you must return in the given time or you can be fined. Locality outside campus is extremely safe.
