Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum can be considered as a moderately effective. But some courses like Biomedical instrumentation and medical equipments troubleshooting and maintenance are very useful for the biomedical engineering students. The only thing that came to useful for me while i started to work as a project lead was these subjects. Students looking for QA and QC post, the subjects like medical ethics codes and standards was very relevant. Some courses like professional communication english were which was not that useful. The staff itself had no clue on what they was doing. The exam timing was for 3 hrs in which 15 mins is cool off time.

Internships Opportunities

3

The college itself didnt provide any internship. But they allowed us to go and do internship outside the campus. Leave was given for this. The allowed us to do our projects inside the campus itself. The staff guided through out the projects asthe campus itself had many labs for the purpose. Students were qlso allowed to take their projects outside and get it done. After every internship we have to submit our certificates and need to get the approval from HOD.

Placement Experience

3

The placements will start from 7th sem onwards. Students are allowed to work from 7th sem. Plenty of companies visited our college for placement. But for biomedical engineering the companies that came for placement was alledical coding comapnies. No core companies took part of the placement drive. The package provided by medical coding companies were so low it was only 15k per month. For some departments the placement was good. Most of the students will get placed around 90% students will get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

I completed my B.E in Biomedical Engineering from Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Engineering College, perambalur. The course fees here is low compared to other colleges. It was only 85000. (2020-2024). The admission costs around 10000 and the hostel admission fee is around 5000. Whereas the hostel fees was 65000 (2020-2024). But there was fee reduction for govt quota students which was only 50000. But the hostel fee was same for everyone. The college also supports PMS scholarships and other minority scholarships. If therr was any other scholorships, it was also supported from the management. Thank you

Campus Life

4

There were many technical events which made the active participationof students. Tech based activities were give priority. Projects were asked to build from students side and was rewarded for them too. Culturals like Nakshathra is a three day long program were many celebrities will come to college and student dance programs, musics, speech were all included. Students get live chance to interact with many celebrities. Many students club were there like health club, echo club...but these were not that active.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel fees was 65000 at that time and the facilities they provided include a coat without bed, chair, common table and almirah which was shared by two students at a time. In a room they accommodated five students. But in some rooms there were 6 or 7 students. But the choice was made by the students itself as they want their friends to be in a single room. The warden carefully avoided the mixing of different state students to avoid cultural clashes. The hostel food us below average at most of the time. During ramadan and all proper food was not provided. There was study time every day during which students should only study and they were not allowed to use mobile phone or speak to each other. Staffs will come for rounds and if they see students not studying or using mobile phones will be asked to wrute apoligy letter.

Admission

I choosed this college because the fee was low compared to other affliated colleges and the faculties was so educated in our own respective fields. I didnt get any rejection from other college. It was me who decided not to join other colleges as the fee was too high. The admission procedure was too easy were as we just have to submit our certificates and other earlier education documents and with that we have to pay 10000. The exams were conducted in proper manner only. But students weren't allowed to write internal exams if they dont pay fee.

Faculty

5

In our department all the faculties were biomedical engineering graduates only. But for other departments all the staffs weren't their department graduates some staffs other engineering backgrounds. But the no. Of staffs were every departments came around 20 for 120 students. Some departments the student strength was 60 My favorite staff in Biomedical Engineering was MRS krishna priya as she was atrhe soul who always helped me in studies and projects and still helps me to find a better career. She always found time to give extra classes to her students so they dont fail in exams. There was exam cell cor the college who made the exams were conducted within the time itself and no malpractice is done by students. Results were published through anna university portal only. Most of the students passed during exams but some used to fail. In a class of 60 students to an average 5 to 6 students will always fail. The course is moderately rated for the recent technologies.

Night Life

4

There were rooms provided for gym but it was bot allowed to use and there was no mich machines too. A swimming pool was there which they only opened for cleaning purpose only. The hostel life was nice but the histel facilities and food provided was too but which made me to quit the hostel and to rent a home outside the college. There were canteens for hangouts but the canteens were seperated fir girls and boys to avoid boys and girls interaction. Basket ball cort was there. The hostel itself is in a huge compound were students can walk freely and safely at any time.

Other Applied Colleges

Saveetha Institute of Medical And Technical Sciences - [SIMATS] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biomedical Science)

The fees was too high for middle class families

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
