What Students Say?
Likes
- The first thing that I liked is the good infrastructure that VIT-AP has provided, good and well ventilated labs and classrooms.
- A good overall crowd. VIT has students from all corners of India, making it an emersive experience.
Dislikes
- Very rigorous time table. We have so many subjects and so many classes somedays that you feel very tired and fatigue , leaving no time for your extra curricular activities.
- Language barrier. As I am a north indian , I sometimes find very hard to communicate with security guards and the mess people as they don't understand English and I can't speak Telugu , leaving no common link of communication.
Course Curriculum Overview
The courses offered at VIT are good, they are upto date to industry standards and professors also explain the concepts nicely. Whatever we learn in the class is later taught how to apply technically in the computer LABS.
Internships Opportunities
In 3 and 4 year students will get numerous internship opportunities from numerous companies. Companies like phone pe, Zomato, Netflix offer internship in our college. Many students also bag off campus internships which pay high stipend.
Placement Experience
Placements in VIT are good. If you study hardly for the next 4 years , for sure you will get placed into a good company with a nice package. The average package in VIT-AP is around 6-7 lpa. And the highest is around 45lpa.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The BTech at VIT-AP will cost you more or less 18-20 lakhs , it depends on the categories in which you are in. For example I'm from 2nd category so my fees is around 18-19 lakhs for 4 years. When you will enroll for the college they will ask for 20,000 caution fees which is refundable. Admission fees is around 1.6 lakhs. All other fees is taken collectively during the semester registration. Some of my batch mates came to this college through EAMCET examination (which is only for the students who live in Andhra Pradesh) have comparatively less fees. Their fees is around 10-12 lakhs including all the expenses. There are scholarships or financial aids for students who are doing exceptionally well in the university and representing the college name on a known platform.
Campus Life
My overall experience with campus life is good , I have made many friends from all academic years. There are so many club events in VIT , almost every week you have some or the other event, event and club activities have made campus life very happening for me. Infrastructure provided is also very good.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is amazing in VIT-AP. I'm currently living in a 4 bedded shared room.It is properly ventilated and cleaned on a daily basis by the cleaners. The washrooms are also cleaned and properly painted and well maintained.
Admission
I came to VIT because , my score in jee mains was not good enough to get into NITs or IIITs. After govt engineering colleges VIT and bits pilani are the top engineering colleges in India. So I choose VIT as my college as it has good infrastructure , competitive environment and a good mix of crowd.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is somewhere around 1:60, which means 1 faculty teaches around a class of 60 students. Faculty to student relationship depend on person to person but maximum faculty in our college are nice and super easy to approach. In my first year Mr. Soumendra Chakravarthy was my software skills professor and he inspired me so much, his class was always fun to be in and he gave amazing insights on daily life topics. The faculty I didn't like was Mr. Surendra Reddy Vinta , he was my Java professor in Second semester because he was very strict and even once bragged about giving F grade to 25/30 students in his previous class. The exam curriculum is CAT1, CAT2 and FAT and 30 marks internals(which are super easy to get). Exam's difficulty keeps varying sometimes they are difficult but sometimes easy. The course curriculum is full relevant and upto date.
Night Life
The most famous hangout place in VIT-AP is food-street, rock plaza and Maggie hotspot. The in time for students is 8:30 in the evening, so these places are also opened till that time only. All hostels have paid and unpaid gym facilities for both boy and for girls for also. VIT is a super safe space for students.
Other Applied Colleges
SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Comparatively higher fees than VIT and less return of investment.
