Course Curriculum Overview

5

I really wanted to be a Doctor and this course gives me the name tag of a doctor. Dentistry and medical College obviously prepares you on how to treat people and also about the new advances that science has developed. I would like the course to be more practical. And not to burder the students with assignments. Yearly 3 internal exams are conducted with an university exam at the end of the year. The difficulty level is moderate

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship is done in the same college it self for 1 year. (Only govt holidays ) Stipend offered by college is a little less when compared to government colleges. There are no placements in dental and medical Colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for A category students is 1 lakh rupees. Which includes: Tuition fee :- 45,000 Special fee :- 25,000 Lab fee :- 10,000 Library fee :- 15,000 Stipend fee:- 5,000 My batchmates of other categories (B & C) are paying 3-4lakhs per year The college also provides government scholarship of TSepass for all the minority BC SC ST castes.

Campus Life

4

Annually we have FEST which is of 1 week. Which includes Traditional day Sports day Fashion show Halloween Dj Annual day And our college celebrates all the important days and festivals. Women's day, teachers day, doctor's day, breast cancer month, diwali, bonalu, batukamma etc. The Library has all the books of all the courses. It has more than 1 lakh books. The class rooms are well established with air conditioners. And projector and speakers. We have a big play ground for cricket, football, basketball, throwball, volleyball, tabletennis. We also have GYM (for girls and boys)

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are good. My hostel is single sharing with attached toilets. My room has a bed, 2 cupboards, fans, lights , study table, washrooms. Which are cleaned everyday. Water and electricity are 24/7 Meals are good. Not too bad not too good. Anyone can opt for hostel. Fee should be paid once in every 6 months. I stay in college attached hostel.

Admission

I have applied to all the dental colleges in Telangana. And I have got a B category seat in Panineeya college of dental sciences. But the yearly fees there was 5 lakh rupees. Which was not affordable. Then in the next counselling in got a free seat in MNR dental college and hospital. Which i opted. The fees was affordable and I loved the college on 1st site. The eligibility for our college is qualifying NEET exam. Cutoffs are decided by government and they keep changing. The addmission experience was easy.

Faculty

3

There are 9 departments in dentistry. Each department has 4-5 faculties. There are mentor mentee meatings. Each mentor has 10 mentees assigned to him/her The faculty to student relationship is good. It really depends on the faculty. My favourite professor is Dr. Sunita JD ma'am.(MDS Oral Pathology)(Dean) She is a super woman. There are a few faculties whom I don't like but I don't want to name them. We have our university exams yearly. (4 year course) Additional exams conducted by college are 3 Internal examinations. With a gap of 2-2years. Students who prepare well pass for sure.

I don't if there is scope for bds or not. But depending on the skills we practice we can gain more benefits for this course. Each internal exams will be conducted in every 3 months. So there's good time for preparation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well. I didn't want to opt for this course. But after entering into this college, it's quite good regarding sports and extra curricular activities and all. Teaching methods are very well. They are very well done by my faculty. Patients come to our college and we as dental students help them by treating them. I think that's good enough and also there is no problem with that. Over all, it is good. It would be good for people who opt this profession as a passion.

Well I wanted to do mbbs but due to my insufficient marks I couldn't pursue it but I was still adamant to write neet again but after spending some time in college I came to like my course and also made me think that both professions have similar difficulty and importance, I think as I move to further grades my practical knowledge will improve as of now I can't really comment about it as it's been only two months I joined this college

The curriculum is same for all the Dental colleges state wide so nothing worth mentioning there, the curriculum will almost prepare you to practice basic dentistry, but I beleive the practices are far more outdated and the colleges should be more holistic in terms of practicals.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wasn't really sure of choosing this subject as this was my plan b But when I really did some digging about the course I found it very intriguing. It is very artistic As we get practical exposure to our profession we get the idea of the real world application and is also useful in further academic pursuits The course curriculum is lagging behind by decades in some aspects and is not catching up with the recent advances The frequency of exams is manageable and the difficulty level keeps increasing as the next academic year approaches
