A Review of the BBA Program Experience at AJK College of Arts & Science

• BBA courses have good scope everywhere as long as you have the skill. If you're interested in business then you can reach high levels. The curriculum offers a strong foundation in business fundamentals and basics, practical learning through projects, reports and internships every semester. The internship opportunities we're offered every year ensures we're fit and capable for the real world experience after graduation. • Once exam season begins (around September till November) it's frequent and consists of 2 internal exams, 1 model exam and finally the semester exam (including practical exam and VIVA)

Students become eligible for campus placements from semester 5 onwards! Some of the top companies that have recruited AJK students are: 1. Infosys Technologies 2. Tata Consultancy Services 3. Wipro Technologies 4. Cognizant Technology Solutions • Your percentage has to be average to secure a good placement so I would suggest around 70% at least • Highest package is 4LPA and lowest being 2.5LPA It all depends according to your percentage/GPA performance in the course and your interview skills to secure the best package. There's a placement training process throughout the duration of the course. •Students are also trained for the campus placements. The Placement and Training cell goes all out to train the students for the real world experience. My plan after getting the degree is to pursue MBA abroad for more knowledge about my course

The total fees is around ?1.5L to 1.8L for the duration of 3 years. There's also an additional library fees along with the course fee that's ?1,000. Bus fees and hostel fees for students that need it as well. All of this should be paid every semester. There will also be due fees every year for all the maintenance and special programs in the college which will be around ?3,000 to ?5,000 per student. The college provides scholarships to students who scored more than 60% in their 10+2

The campus life is undeniably super fun! We have our main events that are: Freshers Day: This usually is conducted after the juniors arrive every year once the semester year begins. It's usually a very fun DJ night with food & refreshments for the students! AJK DIWAS: This program is also a DJ night with food and refreshments similar to freshers day but more extravagant! On this day, students can also set up their own stalls to sell anything they'd like including food, products etc. Dances are also conducted by departments before the DJ night! Miracle: This is an inter college program where other colleges are invited to participate in talent competitions at AJK. Be it singing, dancing or fashion shows, you can showcase them all and win a cash prize if lucky! We also have a Mr and Mrs AJK fashion show/modeling competition where a selection process takes place to choose one girl and boy, similar to prom Finally, we have STAR NIGHT which is a celebrity concert night (this is the biggest program of AJK) In this program a celebrity singer is invited to perform for the students • The range and accessibility of books are pretty good plus the students can give in their own recommendations of books! • Sports and extracurricular activities are encouraged a lot by the institution. Tournaments are also held for Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Throwball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and more for both men & women! • AT AJK, we have different kinds of clubs including Photography club, Dance Club, Reading Club, NSS, Logistics club etc and all these encourage the students so much and are very beneficial!

• I chose AJK because of many factors: 1. it's situated in a very interesting spot (in the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu) This not only makes it easyy for both Tamil and Mallu students to attend this college but also gives you the benefits of having holidays from both the governments whether it's Onam or Pongal! 2. The institution is very keen when it comes to making sure the students are active whether it comes to sports or other competitions. A lot of competitions are held including tournaments, inter college competitions, hackathons and cooking competitions! Overall, I chose AJK because of these reasons and because it's easier to travel back home during the holidays • Admission process is very simple, you can either contact them or come to the college directly and secure your admission, just make sure your early with your admission process or else you'll have to pay donation fees to secure your seat due to the demand.

• The faculties are very experienced and friendly towards the students, making them approachable • My favorites would be Akhila Maam from the Maths/Commerce department and HOD Mohanavel Sir. Both of them are very experienced and sincere and show no partiality towards the students. They're also very encouraging. • Christopher Sir can be very rude and disrespectful even towards students and other faculties, not fit for teaching • We have 2 phases of internal exams first and then model exams, and then finally the semester exams! They're all pretty good and you can pass them if you pay attention in class. Every semester, very less students fail to clear the exams and the course curriculum is pretty relevant and educational.
