What Students Say
Likes
- Placements are really good even during recession
- They really provide an overall training for cracking campus placements. They cover everything from technical, aptitude to soft skills.
- Faculties are really good. Classes are held regularly and most of them are engaging too.
Dislikes
- The number of students is a bit large so conducting a college fest is next to impossible. Also the college clubs are not very active so most of the students end by not taking part in any of them.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very well designed but as like any other engineering college you dont get much industry exposure. Like they make you learn atleast 3 programming languages as a part of the course. Also much emphasis is given on Data Structures and Algorithms. Apart from these you will be well prepared in Networking, Operating Systems and Databases. Areas of improvement would be to make the curriculum of 3rd year a little less hectic.Every semester has midsem exam and endsem exams.Mid sems are mostly easy and End sems are of moderate difficulty. Also this depends purely upon the faculty.
Internships Opportunities
I got internship opportunity from a company that is located in Hyderabad just after my 6th semester exams got over. They are providing a decent stipend of 20k per month . But Microsoft has also visited the college and took 11 students for internship. So the average stipend students get from on campus placements here is 25k which is in my opinion is justified for a fresher.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for on campus internships after their 4th semester and for on campus placements after the 6th semester. The placement cell of the college is really good. Also during your entire 3rd year you will be given Pre placement training along with your academic classes so they make sure that you are well prepared for the hiring season. Most of the students gets placed and if you are someone who is not looking for placements then you can easily prepare for GATE as the notes provided in the classes proves to be a good option for starting the preparations.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee Structure for our batch was Rs 2,35,000 per year and if you opt for hostel facilities then you need to provide another Rs 90,000 if you are living in non-ac rooms. For ac rooms you have to pay even more. For our batch the scholarship was based on the 10th and 12th marks and also your year-wise CGPA.
Campus Life
Campus life is okayish. Like there is no big tech fests inside the campus but many small technical events takes place all over the year. Also the music club of the college organizes jamming session every week so you can enjoy yourself there. Cricket tournaments takes place every year. There is club for every single thing like from coding to poetry, art, music, dance, radio, fashion, literature, english and many more. So you can try your hands on any of these but you have to take that initiative by yourself. Also we have fully air conditioned 5 storyed library with thousands of books that are part of your curriculum and others. The college has their own student portal for each individual student from where you can supervise your subject wise attendance and semester wise grades.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are neat and clean. Hygiene is really taken care of.The mess food like any other hostel mess are good on some days and really awful on others. In a non-ac room 4 students are accomotated and in ac rooms 3 students get the accommodation. The rooms are well ventilated. You get your bed , cupboard , a table and chair of your own. There is 4 week menu for every month that gets changed after every semester. If you are a non vegetarian you will get it 5 days a week. For vegetarians not much options are available.
Admission
For taking admission in my college you can either appear for SAT which is taken by the college during summers or you can either apply with your JEE Main score. The idea behind taking admission into this college was placements. Because the college really brings the best of the companies to the campus. Also the college is situated in Bhubaneswar which is a very harmonious and peaceful city.
Faculty
There are 60 students in a class so the student to faculty ratio would be 1:60. Most of the faculty members are very knowledgeable and helpful. Also you can even contact them easily after classes. They may even help you with projects or ideas you are pursuing beyond your academics.
