Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose to study Physiotherapy because I wanted to serve mankind and it was one of my dreams to serve humanity being a medical professional. Yes, I am happy that I am fulfilling my dream. In fact, in this proffession, I have to offer my services to disabled people and it's a great feeling when the patient comes in a wheel chair with all hopes of walking again shattered but returns walking on his feet. It gives a great feeling of satisfaction and their blessings matters a lot. It also teaches us that everybody in this world are facing their real world challenges and struggling for their existence. Of course, we have to study a lot as we have to deal with the human body, so we need to be that efficient and accurate to make them well. But yes, it's the beauty of this proffession all the hardwork turns into gold when the smile of patients return back and they return happily.

Internships Opportunities

5

College runs its own hospital( SV NIRTAR HOSPITAL, OLATPUR) where patient load is quite high and patients of different cases come here from all over India. In this hospital, students get chances for internships. Also SV NIRTAR has tied up with AIIMS( All India Institute of Medical Sciences) ,BHUBANESWAR. Students also get internship opportunities there for a better outlook and a great experience which will help them a lot in their career.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is same for all as it is a Central Government Institute. There is no reservation in fees. The admission fees is 17,250 rupees pa. There is no extra money for admission and library security. Library fees is 4500 P.A. The sports and cultural activity fees is 1500 P.A. Caution money is 10,000 P.A. Laboratory fees is 6000 P.A. University registration fees is 3500 rupees and fees for Identity Card is 250 rupees. Fees of my batchmates are same as I have mentioned above. Scholarships are also there for helping financially unstable students.

Campus Life

5

A great experience I have experienced in the campus. The Academic Block celebrates all festivals with much pomp and show. And for all that, some representatives are there to handle and manage the whole celebration. College also celebrates its Foundation day in a great way. Students get a outlook to show up their hidden talents, be it in cultural or sports activities.

Admission

There is one exam called All India Common Entrance Test. This exam chooses students from all over India. The students have to give test for the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and General Knowledge. The exam is of 100 marks. Most probably, 18000-19000 students give exam but only 1000-2000 students get seats, including BPT, BOT, BPO and BASLP. I chose SV NIRTAR beacuse it is great institute for experience as it is having best infrastructure and patient load is quite high comparatively other government colleges. After the exam, students get their results( ranks ) on official website of SV NIRTAR. After that, they have to follow a counselling procedure in that online portal. Instructions and guidelines will be available for them to follow-up. After securing a seat, they will get a choice either to lock their choices and after that, a physical verification of documents and admission occurs and students get admitted.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty members are very good. They consider new comers as their children and help them to overcome all the problems that a new comer faces at first in college. They boost up self-confidence and give much time to make the students more efficient in academics. They clear up all doubts and are always available for every students who can't cope up with the studies easily. They are much talented teachers with a great knowledge about Physiotherapy proffession and all are excellent Physiotherapists. Feeling great to be a part of such a family which supports each and every time student needs it. And talking about exams, there are 8 semestars in the whole course and for each semestar, there are Internal exams, both theory and practical of 20-25 marks. The students have to pass Internal exams with a great result and have to maintain a high percentage of attendance in order to be eligible to give Semestar Exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed this course as I always wanted to help peoples. I always wanted to join a medical course. So when I got a chance to join this course, I felt overwhelmed and joined this college. There are fields that need to be improved such as utmost importance should be given to clinical classes rather than theory classes. Attendance should not be followed this strictly as due to unavoidable circumstances sometimes students fail to fulfil the attendance criteria, still they should be given a chance to face the examinations. The frequency of examinations are 2 times a year along with moderate level of difficulty.

Placement Experience:

Svnirtar is known for it's placements. This college itself is a reputation. Students have to clear entrance examinations to study here. After fourth year there's a compulsory paid internship programme of six months. This boosts patients exposure and expertises the therapists.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always wanted to do something for the people. I was interested in choosing the medical field. So when I got the opportunity to do this course, so I felt lucky getting this opportunity. Scopes may be challenging but the happiness is intense after treating patients. Areas for improvement in the course curriculum is more scopes should be introduced and we should get more respect and high paying salary for existing in this field. Frequency of exam is twice a year But timing of exams and classes needs to be managed badly as exams are being conducted anytime without much gap. The datesheet releases and we get to know exams are within a week so it becomes challenging for us to prepare well for the exams. Exams should be scheduled in a better manner. So that students can get more time to prepare properly for exams. The clinicals prepares us for how to face patients and prepares us for the real world applications. We here make a good relationship with patients while giving therapy which we will cherish forever.
