Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The course curriculum described by GGSIPU for BA(JMC) covers everything from writing, radio anchoring, photography, event management, digital marketing, news anchoring, photography and much more. The course gives the student an overview of the media and journalism industry. There are three compulsory theory subjects and one elective subject, with their respective labs. Every semester, one set of internal examinations are held and one set of external examinations are held. 75% weightage is given to external exams and 25% is given to internal exams.

Internships Opportunities

No. The college does not provide any fruitful internships nor any job opportunities, especially for BA(JMC). Though many companies came at the end they started listing their own courses for which we have to pay them. The students find internship opportunities all by themselves.

College Events

1

A few events are organized by the college. The creative societies organize such events, including Natparna, organized by the dramatics society of the college. All these events are funded by the students themselves.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure sums to approximately lakh per year, which is quite feasible compared to other universities. But there are overhead expenses that the students have to incur.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarships or loan facilities are offered by the college.

Campus Life

0.5

There are extracurricular activities for students such as table tennis, carrom, etc. sports meet is held every year in which there are a variety of sports such as weight lifting, badminton, tug of war, football and cricket. There are two computer labs, one library, moot court for law students and radio and video production labs for journalism students.

Alumni/Alumna

Connections with senior students have to be made on our own. They are very helpful and make freshers comfortable in the college environment. Also, the college is 100% against ragging. Seniors are available to help always.

Admission

Trinity Institute of Professional Studies is affiliated to GGSIPU, one of the most prestigious universities in Delhi. a common entrance test (CET) was conducted for the journalism course which had questions ranging from logical reasoning to core English. The ranks were declared on the basis of the test. The candidates could fill three colleges of their preference, out of which they would get one based on the cutoff. The colleges were allotted and the seat was to be frozen by depositing money. If the candidate was not satisfied by the college allotted he/she could wait till the next round.

The college has really more to do with its placement cell because students are not getting opportunities as they expect. The companies which come for placement drive are from limited domains and they also offer very normal package.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.
