Dislikes
- Most of the 1st year's course curriculum is outdated, which is a waste of time and needed to be improved as per the industrial needs.
- The placement and training cell needed to be improved and the students needed training and support from it to easily get placed in their dream companies.
- The teaching methods are also outdated and also the teachers needed to take care of every individual student's performance and mentor them in the right way.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good and it makes students to prepare for the industry needs and further pursue their career. But one thing needed to improve is the subjects in 1st year which are irrelevant to engineering and will be of no use further also. The exam timetable will be adequate for any kind of student and has got good amount of 6 months to prepare and master them.
Placement Experience
Students from their 7th semester are eligible for the placements. Actually every year JNTUA will record a good numebr of placements but during our period due to recession going on all over the world the placed student percentage is low and only around 35%. Comapanies like L and T, TCS, Accenture visited our campus during our period. The highest package recorded was 10 LPA and the average was 4 LPA. AsI'm unplaced during the campus placement , currently I'm undegoing a training program in Mechanical Design field and trying to get a job in it.
Fees and Financial Aid
Actually the total academic fee for an year includes Tution fee which is Rs.10,000/- and Special fee which is Rs.2500/- per an acdemic year. So the total will be Rs.12850/-. As I availed the benefits of fee reimbursement thr Government of AP named Jagananna Vidhya Deevena the Governement paid my entire academic fee for the whole course period of 4 years. Apart from the academic fee a student needs to pay semester exam fee a head of every sem exams which is Rs.750/- and there are no other fee apart from these.
Campus Life
My overall experience in my college is amazing. I loved the friends I made there. Every year some exciting fests namely the sports day, the UTSAV, the formation day and many more departmental fests will be held at JNTUA which will be memorabel experiences for any student. The central library will have all the required books in sufficient volumes for all the students and the college has a huge playground with a running track, basket ball court and GYM facility also. Apart from the studies the students also participate in many club and volunteer activities such as the NSS, NCC, the innovation club, the coding club and much more.
Hostel Facilities
If you want take admission into the college hostels you need to consult the hostel office of the college and pay the required caution deposit. The hostels are good and they provide a table, almirah, cot and a chair for evry student. The food quality is good and the menu will be reasonable and can be changed accordingly as per students request. My suggestion is to go and get accomodation in the college hostel itself, if you secure admission at JNTUA and you are a non local student as it's very much affordable.
Admission
As I'm from a nearby town to Anantapur in which JNTUA is situated in my 1st choice is to secure an engineering seat at JNTUA. I selected this institute by the parameters like affordability, near by loaction and reputation. I didnt applied for any colleges and my only choice is JNTUA. The admission process is through by clearing the AP EAMCET exam with the required marks that reaches the cut off for your branch and by applying and participating in the AP EAMCET counselling and selecting JNTUA in the web options and we need to report at the college within the mentioned time to secure our admission.
Faculty
There are required number of teaching faculty for the students and also all the teaching faculty are well qualified and have good experience in teaching also. From Mechanical department my favourite faculty is Dr. B.Om Prakash sir who is very friendly with the students and help each and every individual. Most of the faculty memebers don't pay attention on students they will just come and go as per their timings to the classes. There will be a mid term exam for evry 3 momths and an end sem exam for every 6 months and they will be easy to pass but difficult to score high.
