Course Curriculum Overview

Computer science is a good field having very good job opportunities. And I chose this brand cause in this field the package is also quite good. But to grab a great job in this field one must have to build different skills and focus on other courses including academic courses which is available on YouTube. No the frequency and timing of exams doesn't affect at all.

Placement Experience

3.5

From 7th semester of BTech students become eligible for campus placement. Some of the good companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro technologies, Deloitte and these companies hire around 10 students with a very good package. Last year the highest package was 10 lpa and lowest package was 3 lpa. About 80% students are getting placed. And after degree i obviously want a job as I've chosen a professional course.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm a student of Centurion university. And I'm paying 1,57,000 to my college including exam fees or other fees. There's is a scholarship opportunity that if someone gets more than 8 CGPA and has more than 80% attendance then he/she can get a discount upto 15000. And my classmates are also paying the same fees as me.

Campus Life

4.5

As it's a University there're many festivals we celebrate in our college. Our annual fest is GajaJyoti which we celebrate for 4 days and other than that in our college students celebrate Holi, diwali, Ganesh Pooja, sarswati pooja, navaratri , teacher's day etc. If we discuss about the library it's a central library having a very good reading room but our library needs to have more collection of books. Our classrooms are well equipped smart classrooms having a smart board and a white board. But some of the classrooms don't have Ac's. In our college students are really good in extracurricular activities as our college offers various activities of them.

Admission

I didn't apply for any college but I tried to contact with Silicon University. But after that I got to know from one of my school seniors who reads here that Centurion is also strict in academics and provides a good placement. And as there's a senior of my school of same branch as me, I thought I could be able to get some guidance about college and exams . and That's why I got my addmission in this college. One must have a decent rank in Jee mains or Ojee or minimum 60% in 10th and +2 to get admission in this college.

Faculty

Here the faculty student ratio is 1:60 . And there's a mentor for every 60 students who takes the responsibility of our personal growth. If he / she notices any kind of downfall in academics or any other inappropriate activities of us then he/ she immediately inform our parents. And among all the facilities, Dr Sasibhusan padhi is the one I like the most. And there's is no one I don't like. And the level of exam is moderate. We've to appear 2 exams in each semester i.e. internal and semester exam but there's is also a second internal in every semester which includes ppt presentation and viva.

Other Applied Colleges

Silicon University | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I found out that Centurion is quite strict in academics. That's why I got my admission in Centurion

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
