Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Courses are good and we have multiple options for courses. There is professional courses regular ones, ACCA , and internship course. College also asks the students to complete various projects and internship which makes the students understand how the real world is because what we study in classrooms are more like theory and we not really know how to apply them in real scenarios but these opportunities helps. In my opinion providing the students with real time scenarios during the course would be better because that way they know and understand how things work when you step out od college so that should be improved.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Usually the college doesn't give internship for students with ang company, uts upto the students they can do it anywhere they wish for upto 90hours and we have to keep a note of all the work that we do and submit it to the faculty along with report and viva session and presentations.

Fees and Financial Aid

St aloysius college has a comprehensive fees structure. Undergraduate course fee varies from 30000-75000 a year depending on the course. Students can also apply for various scholarships available available like merit cum scholarship, vidyasiri scholarship, post metric scholarship, scholarship for students from indian army background, beedi scholarship etc. Concession is given to students who find it difficult to afford the course or the students who get good scores in their semester. If any student has scored good marks in any semester then it's likely for them to get various scholarships and the fee structure also will be reduced. Fee structure for regular bCom is from 45000 a year and eventually it reduces as we reach the final year. Whereas for the bcom professional it is around 75000 a year. Aloysius college also offer different courses other than professional like internship batches, ACCA batches

Campus Life

3.5

Aloysius college has numerous programs, i can say that there will be programs nearly every day in a semester. There will be programmes lile aloysian football league, talent leage, commercio for business minded students, stalls for students, music league etc. Aloysius library is one of the vast library in mangalore and we get almost all the books and journals there . All you have to do is a library card by paying some money and you can get your books . Classrooms are also quite good and bright We have multiple clubs where students have to compulsorily join any one and one day in a week we have club activities.

Admission

I had applied for few other colleges in mangalore like yenepoya, shreedevi and aloysius. But my first preference was aloysius as i was already a student there and i knew how good the college was in overall. I had applied for 3 colleges and among the 3 i got a call from aloysius first which was my first preference and i got admission there. It was during covid and i must say even though it was onlime classes at the beginning, it was very good and interactive. Admission process once you apply , yoh have to pay application fee and you get a call from college for interview in 2-3 weeks once they approve you have to pay the fees and select the course. Fees can be paid fully or partially. This was for regular batch For professional there will be some exams and the students have to score average marks to get in.

Faculty

4

Faculty of st Aloysius college is extremely professional and highly skilled people. We have various departments and there are around 20-25 lectures in each departments. Lectures are always available for students to help them in any kind may it be regarding their studies, extra carricular activities etc. We also have counsellors in each floor in each block where we can go and talk to them which u personally think is one of the best thing in our college.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
