What Students Say
Likes
- Our college was a women’s college and we were given the freedom of not having any strict dress code for women.
- We had elections every year to choose our own President,Vice President and more. Apart from our studies we were also given the opportunity to take part in real life campaigns and experience elections in college.
- Very flexible timings for the college. Since I opted SF my day started at 12.45 pm and ends at 5.15 pm. We had 5-6 classes every day. The timings made it comfortable for the students to live far away to come to colleges easy.
Dislikes
- We did not have much celebrations compared to other colleges around our tier. We did not get opportunity to explore more on extra curricular
- The college had it’s own library but we did not have many library periods to spend reading books.
- They had clubs but again it was not very active and not everyone were given opportunity to take part in it. Only few clubs like NCC and NSS were active clubs
Course Curriculum Overview
1. Specifically I chose this course because I scored well in computer science and I was good in programming. The course had many new languages for us to learn like Java, C, Java script. 2. We had regular programming classes every week which helped us gain real time experience coding our own programs and finding solutions. 3. The teaching of other subjects apart from programming languages could be more innovative and experiential to make it easy for the students to grab the contents. We can have more projects and internships given to students every year. 4. As told earlier we had exams every semester and for each subject we used to get 2-3 days for time to prepare. The difficulty level for the exams were moderate.
Internships Opportunities
1. Students get the opportunity to do projects at their prefered internship companies. The stipend would range from 8000 to 10000 per month. 2. Companies such as AppviewX, Payoda, Kanini, Hexaware and few more give internship opportunities but we can't expect internships like engineering colleges. 3. Projects can be chosen as per the students wish and they have to get it verified by their guide for the allocated students. Some students do their projects together and some opt to do it alone.
Placement Experience
1. The campus placements starts at the second year of the college for the students. 2. We had a lot of companies that visited our college and also we went outside for off campus interviews. We attended companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro, Infosys, Hcl, Bosch, Payoda, Appviewx, Kanini and many other organisations like bank sectors and schools. I was placed in 4 companies and got the offer. 3. I don't remember it correctly but approximately it used to be 3-4 lpa which was the highest during my period in the college 4. We had around 80-85% of students getting placed. 5. I started studying my masters after I gratuated.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure varies depending upon the courses ranging from 2,40,000 to 4,00,000 Rs. The fees are broken into semester wise. Scholarships are provided for eligible students and mostly prefered to aided students than self financed.
Campus Life
1. We have Karishma which is an annual event that happens every year at the mid of our semester. 2. We had two libraries at the college and we used to have one period for library in a week. 3. We did not have any sport classes but we had many clubs and one of the them were sports club. Interesteds only play matches and we also a stadium indoor and outdoor. 4. Yes we did have many clubs like NCC, NSS, YIC, Sports, FT many more. Most of the students did not get chance to participate in every club activity. NCC AND NSS clubs were very active clubs in the college
Admission
1. I had applied for few other colleges too but I chose this college because of the flexible timing. My college started from 12.45 and ended at 5.15 pm. This made my travelling easier from long distance and I did not have to stay in hostel. 2. I did not get any rejections from any college. 3. Admission starts on the day when you receive your results. Eligibility was passing your 12th exams. I studied information technology so the subjects they considered were computer science, maths, physics and chemistry. 4. We did have cutoffs.but that was not majorly considered.
Faculty
1. We had 2 teachers for each subject and we had 3 sections of students each containing 60 students in it. So the ratio was more like 1:150. The teachers were knowledgebal and well educated and also easy to approch. 2. My favourite teacher was Hasini ma'am. She was our class teacher. 3. I did not have any teacher who I could dislike. We had few teachers who were strict to the students but that was also for the well being for the students and nothing apart from that. 4. Since it was an arts college we had 6 semesters and in between we used to have periodical tests. The exams were quiet moderate I would say. We only had very few students who fail in semesters. 5:60 ratio of the students failed. The course curriculum was all very much relevant to our course and we also had many computer lab classes since we opted for information technology.
