Institute of Dental Science’s Review

The course is very well designed. The students graduate with full of knowledge and become successful dentists. The course will guide through choosing courses for masters also. The only drawback is we still study outdated methods. Even that is slowly progressing and changing year by year. We have internal exams for every 4 months and finals exams after the end of the academic year. The examinations are difficult.

After 4 years you have to do 1 year of internship in the college. The stipend is 11000 per month and it is mandatory to be done in the college itself to graduate. The internship is of 10 months with posting in 10 departments. A month in each department. The stipend is really low compared to the work done.

The course is of 5 years. The last year is mandatory paid internship in the college itself. Rest 4 years the fees is to be paid. The course fee is 5,50,000 per year. You have to pay it for 4 years. The hostel fee varies from ac to non-ac i.e 1,20,000 and 90,000. The mess fee is separate. Scholarships are available for women and financially vulnerable individuals.

The campus life is lively. We have events almost every month. The annual fest VIBGYOR is a really huge event filled sports events and cultural events. The fest is accompanied my national level stars and celebrities with Dj nights and dances. We have freshers in our first year which really helps the new joiners to mingle with the rest of the college. We have intra-college football, cricket and basketball championships.

We have both ac and non-ac rooms. Ac rooms cost 120000 perm annum and non ac rooms cost 90000 per annum. The mess fee is 48000 per annum. The rooms are 3 bedded and well made. They are spacious with cupboards and tables. There is no facility for personal washrooms or balconies. There are two common bathrooms in a floor. The hostel is very near to college. The security is extremely good. We have strict in-times and limited outings. The food is below average. Most hostellers choose to eat outside or cook themselves. The menu is really good but the taste is not at par. The hostels have good wi-fi s and every corner has a CCTV camera.

I applied to this college because it is close to my home. This college stands 13th in the NIRF rankings and the patients inflow is good compared to other colleges in my city. Admissions are done on the basis of NEET exams score and only the people who score higher than cut-off are elegible to apply

The faculty to student is really good. Each department consists of a minimum of 10 teachers. They are really professional and helpful. All the professors and doctors are very helpful and knowledgeable. They are all successful doctors and well trained. Exams are difficult but can be passed by periodic studying. Pass to fail ration is 10:1. The course well relevant to the curriculum.
