Course Curriculum Overview
The B. Pharmacy course is a well respected and a very important course for the medicine field which teaches about manufacturing, marketing, research as well as testing of medicines. The course gives appropiate knowledge to approach further higher studies and also inculcates required skills needed to work in the pharma industry. The course is divided into 4 years and each year is divided into 2 semesters therefore making a total of 8 semesters. In each semester there are 2 internal sessional examinations of 30 marks with the time bounding of 1 hour 15 minutes and one final university examination of 75 marks with time limit of 3 hours.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are available in the last semester with an average package of about ? 250000, several local as well as some big companies come for the in-campus selection process. After completion of your degree you are eligible for various government as well as private job positions.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The fee for every year is ? 1,10,000 making the total fees around ?4,40,000 (excluding the hostel fee). Various scholarships are available on economical and ctegory basis provided by the govt. of Maharashtra and after the ladki behan yojna of Government of Maharashtra fee is almost nil for female students of EWS category.
Campus Life
The annual fest CRESCITA is held every year in even semesters, annual sports gathering is also held every year. Various days like Traditional day, Bollywood day, Twins day, Chocolate day, Rose day etc. are also celebrated. All course books are available in the library along with various black book journals of Masters and Research scholars as well as other informative books and self help books are also provided, few works of fiction are also available for students. All classrooms are equipped with smart screens or projectors with access to the Internet for a technically enhanced learning experience for the students.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are decent with an acceptable level of cleanliness. Rooms are equipped with beds, tables, chairs and cupboards and have windows and ventilators for proper cross-ventilation. One room is shared between 3 students. Four bathrooms and four toilets are available on each floor which are cleaned six days in a week by hostel cleaning staff. Water for drinking and other purposes is available for 24 hours for 7 days of the week. Hot water for bathing is also available, courtesy to solar water heater installed in every hostel. The quality of the food provided in hostel mess is not too good but various private messes with cheap rates and better food quality are available inside the campus. You can register for hostel after finalisation of your college admission the fee without mess charges if ? 15,110 for a year which is quite affordable. Various PGs are also available within 1km distance of the campus.
Admission
For getting admission the individual and combined score of PCB or PCM must be more than 50% and the candidate must be from science stream. For admission the candidate must cross the cutoff of Maharashtra CET exam or NEET. The cutoff of Mht. CET varies between 85-95 percentile. The admission process is online, throung the MHT CET govt. portal and is conducted by the name of CAP i.e. Centralise Admission Process. You have to verify the required documents online or offline at government alloted centers as per your choice and you will have to produce the orignal copy of those same documents while finalising your admission in the college.
Faculty
The faculties are all well qualified in the pharmacy field with lowest qualification being post-graduate degree of M. Pham, the student to faculty ratio is good, about 1 faculty per 50 students. Student teacher interaction is regular and faculties are always accessible and always present to provide guidance and motivation. Specially Dr. Popat Kumbhar is an excellent faculty, his way of teaching is very easy for the students to grasp ad although strict he is always kind towards the students. Two sessional exams of 1 hour 15 minutes for 30 marks each and one University final exam of 3 hours for 75 marks is held and out of 70 more than 60 students pass the exam.
