Likes

One of the most famous and beautiful college in Punjab
The staff is very friendly and cooperative.
There are a lot of trees in the college campus.

Dislikes

There is problem of water logging in front of admin block during heavy rain.
There is usually a lot of traffic during morning time.
There is no holiday on Saturday but only few of the students attend the lectures

Course Curriculum Overview

The first semester is quite easy and contains basic knowledge of commerce field. Some of the topics are similar to what students learn in their high schools i.e. 11th and 12th. There are different professors for different subjects. They deliver the lecture and marks the attendance over the 40 minute time period.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 58842 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees would be between Rs.55,000 to Rs.60,000. There are many types of scholarships that are available. For example Merit Based Scholarship which is for students who got above 90% in their last examinations. Sports facilities in college are also great.

Campus Life

There is a cultural event called Khalsa Youth Festival which is held every year in the month of November. Inter department Cultural Fest is held in March. Sports events are also organised by the societies of different departments.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is available for students who cannot afford to travel regularly. There are not much facilities in a hostel room. The quality of food is satisfactory during afternoon and night but during morning time the food is quite heavy i.e. parathas every morning.

Hostel Fee: INR 43000 per year

Admission

I only applied for this college because this is the best college in the state of Punjab. My study background was in commerce field so I opt for B.Com. I got admission very easily on merit bases without much formalities.

Faculty

There are a total of 60 students in each class. The teachers are very friendly and well-educated. Facilities such as canteen, library, dispensary, playgrounds, music classes etc. are also available. The final examinations are held after the end of the semester i.e. 6 months.

The course curriculum is well-planned and mostly relevant to current industry needs. It covers both theory and practical work, which helped me choose this course. The subjects prepare for us real-world applications, though some topics could be updated. Exams are held regularly and are moderate in difficulty. Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum relevant. Provide with practical and theoretical knowledge. But needs some improvement with the teaching method. That is need of some projector in the classrooms. Besides this overall course curriculum and everything else regarding course is relevant and the study material for each subject available too.

Being a new here i dont kow much about the placements here. But i saw a chart of the placement being offered to previous batch studens higest placement was 11 lakh per annum, and lowest was 4 lak per annum For ore placements u have to work hard and score a good CGPA to be eligible for placements. Students get less placements here After completing my degree i plan to learn some soft or tchnical skills that will be helpful for me in future

Placement Experience:

Final year student get eligible for placement, companies like wipro , kotak bank ,sbi , mahindra etc have offered placement for students of dav ,the highest placement this year was 7.5 lpa by to two students of bcom and average is 15000-25000 per month . According to em its 50% of students who get placement. My future plans are to go for mba which is not Available in dav or to give some interview and job based test

Course Curriculum Overview:

Firstly every course have different fee structure. As my course is BCOM so i think if you need to make some higher knowledge of commerce you should go for it because it can help you to make your overall basic knowledge good even if you don't related to commerce stream in 11th or 12th. the way of teaching in the collage is good but still some of the teachers don't have interest to teach their student in the better way. exam system in the collage is good and its difficuly level is moderate also its depend on the subject and point of view of the students

Infrastructure lacks somewhere and furniture is not upto mark. No negative point leaving these mentioned points, already mentioned all the positive points, in extra Gym, boxing room, sports activities, stage programs, social activities are there.
