Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelor of pharmacy is a paramedical course which is affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical university. It is a four years course with semester pattern. The course has equal hours of theory and practical which will be conducted by the faculties of the college in the laboratories. The course gives good knowledge and idea about research works which can be done with the analytical instruments and the course gives a detailed study about the research works that are carried out in India.
Placement Experience
The college has a tie-up with some of the pharmaceutical companies and tie-ups with hospitals for training and students internships.
College Events
So far no events have been conducted but frequent seminars have been conducted regarding the research works in a pharmacy. The students are taken to other colleges for one-day workshops and given awareness about the activities happening in the field of pharmacy.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for the students of Tamil Nadu is Rs.80,000 per year. This is the first year fees and the same fees will be continued till the final year. Other expenses include the examination fees which are charged during the semester. Have a stationery shop inside the campus and that will be useful for us to purchase stationery during semesters.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I have not opted for any scholarship or loan. There is staff who are professionally trained for helping the students to avail their scholarships from the Government.
Campus Life
The campus is an eco-friendly campus. The gender ratio is almost 50:50. The college encourages sports and many indoor and outdoor games are available. Apart from that many extracurricular activities like dance, singing and dramas are encouraged. The labs are well equipped and the practical sessions are conducted in those labs. The students are trained to handle the chemicals and the glassware.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network will be started as a single batch goes out. The senior students are helpful in giving reference books.
Admission
As I was in the science stream I selected the Bachelor of Pharmacy and I also considered the future scope for the medical field is high when considered about other courses. Regarding the admission process, it is a direct admission procedure like filling the form and other steps of verification and finalization. Regarding the interview, it was the conversation with the Director of the College. He explained about the nature and scope of the course in a clear way.
Faculty
The faculties of this college are possessing a master degree and some have completed their doctorates in respected disciples. They all have many years of experience and their fluency in English is very good. They addressed their departments and gave general information's about the course and its scope. They explained the higher studies that can be done after completing a bachelor of pharmacy. The scope of pharmacy abroad was explained in a good manner. By looking at all these activities I had a good opinion on the staff members.
