What Students Say
Likes
- My college provides a variety of activities like debate competition, art competition, speech competitions, etc. The freshers event and the Aura are also an entertaining and unforgettable experience for all the students.
- PGI conducts frequent guest lectures with the most experienced and qualified personnel to guide and encourage the students.
- The industrial visits provides a scope of practical knowledge for the students.
Dislikes
- The fine system is a bad call. The college implies a fine of Rs.500 to Rs.1000 for late fee payment. College demands the whole semester's fee in the start of semester thus doesn't gives time to arrange the fee amount.
- College's classes timing is too lengthy that is from 09:30 AM to 04:10 PM. This schedule bounds the students to learn other skills.
- The faculties are qualified but lacks basic teaching skills. Faculties are unable to connect with the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BBA because of my own desire to learn about management. I didn't had much knowledge or idea about how the course and curriculum is going to be. As now I'm studying, i can say that the curriculum is partially effective and partially not so relevant in the real world. I missed ine point in favor of the college. PGI maintains a good library for students. Teaching can be improved in such ways that teachers can teach by example. They can try to communicate in english as much as possible. The internal exams are conducted every semester for preparation of final exams.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible to appear in placement drive in the last semester of final year of their course. Companies like Bajaj, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Band, Bandhan Bank, Ultratech, etc. join the campus for hiring. The offers are made to approximately 80% to 90% of the appeared candidates based on their interview. The highest package I've heard of is 14 lakhs per annum. The average package is 4.2 lakhs per annum. The college guarantees 100% placement. But places almost 80% of his students. After getting the degree, I'll apply for jobs and internships in management field. Alongside my job, I'll continue my masters.
Fees and Financial Aid
The registration fee is Rs.800. My yearly fees for BBA is Rs.32000. Extra Rs.5500 are taken as uniform fee. Exam fee is Rs.2900 per semester. The charges for industrial visit varies from Rs.50-100. If scholarship is provided then total fee for a year is Rs.14000. The scholarship amount are same for all the categories but varies in different courses. The college provides average experienced faculties & a great but strict campus life. Carrying college identity card is compulsory. Any student can't enter the college premises without his or her ID Card.
Campus Life
The aura happenes every year in the month of April and is the biggest event of the college. Luckily i got the opportunity to host the event and did it under the guidance of my mentors. The freshers event happened in November every year to welcome the freshies for a new life. Th college library provides a wide range of books but only in academic subjects. There is no novel or journal available to study in the library. The facilities are satisfactory. Clean classrooms, fresh whiteboard with marker, 4 fans in each classroom, one podium for teachers and comfortable sitters for students. In the month of November, the sports meet happens which gives the opportunity to students to showcase their ability to compete in outdoor as well as indoor games.
Admission
I didn't applied to many colleges but went to some and did some research. I found PGI the best college under my reach. No, i didn't got rejected. Infact i applied in this college and got 10% discount for 1st year only on my tution fee that is Rs.3200. To take admission in PGI, the candidate must register itself with the college, fill the admission form, submit the necessary documents like 10th & 12th Marksheet, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, Aadhaar Card, etc. And pay some part of his tution fee. There is no barrier of any kind of entrance exam. My overall admission experience was so smooth.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:50. Faculties are easily approachable but their problem solving capability is not so good. Some faculties are so lazy that they are not willing to take lectures in the end of the day. The bus service is also not so good. However i don't travel through bus bur I've heard negative reviews about the behavior of bus driver and conducter.
