Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I just chose this course based of the reputation and advertising from the college. Not much is being taught keeping in mind the real world scenarios just mostly theoretical subject. They can firstly improve the faculty members who are under qualified to teach and add more real world scenarios or program which teach us real World inputs. The timings of exams are actually great as there is no hectic schedule just normal timings for the exams mostly in 2 shifts 1st in morning from 8 pm and then in evening from 2 pm onwards.

Internships Opportunities

1

I'm in second year so I don't have much ideas of intership provided by the college though some interships are provided often for which we have to pay very big amounts l've heard. There are many trips that are offered in the name of specialization but I don't think they are worth it as they are very expensive and there is no concession there. Social interships are provided by the college.

Placement Experience

1

There are very few opportunities for top students in B.com for placement as there are very less companies. I will be preparing for CAT in future and applying for jobs outside the campus. Highest package offered to any B.com stutdents would be around 6 lakhs to 8 lakhs per year. Very few students like top 5 to 10% students get placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly we have to pay around upto INR160000 which is split in 2 semisters each contains around INR80000. Total course fees is above INR500000 for whole 3 years. I have enrolled in a scholarship based on my marks in class 12th boards which gives me 18% concession in my tution fees per semister. Adding not much just upto INR3500 or INR4000 less in total 80000 fees per semister. If I had a domicile I could get a concession upto 30% which would be around INR7500 or INR8000. Other than that there are not much scholarship available only based on board marks or domicile. The board marks scholarship has many levels such as below 70% or above 90%.

Campus Life

4

Socially campus has very bright aura there are many clubs you can join many students you could interact with and also many sports activities to participate in. Library is best in class contains mostly every useful book.

Admission

I applied in just graphic era other than upes and also gave CUET exam and my score was low so I didn't get addmission in DU. I didn't get addmission in DU because of my low score in CUET exam. The addmission process is very easy just walk in addmission you can apply online or just walk in through the gates and only eligible criteria in UPES is that you should have more than 50% marks in class 12.

Faculty

2.5

Most faculty members are straight up under qualified to teach as the don't know proper English and have clase to no conceptual knowledge and even many faculty members are PHD graduate who can't teach properly. 50% marks are based on internal marking scheme which is completely in the hands of faculty members (like assignment or how you present yourself in front of teachers). Other 30% marks are from end semester exams and 20% marks are from mid semester exams. You have to pass in end semester even if you fail in mid semester you can clear nd semester with good marks to pass in overall results. The exams conducted are mostly easy until there are some faculty members who don't teach kuch and just thrown random things in exams which are completely out of syllabus. If you fail the exam a fees of INR1000 is to be paid per subject for supplementary exams. There are no particular names I can provide but I didn't like most of my faculty members which were PHD graduates persuing reasearch work.

Other Applied Colleges

Graphic Era Hill University - [GEHU] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.}

Because, personaly I thought that UPES is much better college in terms of degree value.

Remarks:

The primary factor of chosing the institute was that it is a government college. Secondly, its location (presence of holy ganges near by makes the environment pious).Third being presence of good and safe environment. Facility of library and easy availability of all kind of books, journals, daily newspapers is one of the factors that can attract students. Time to time sports events take place engaging students towards extra curricular activities. And the most important factor affecting one's choice is wisdom, support and mentoring by the faculty and dean here.

Though college was not so much strict which was fun for us it needed to be i think colleges needs to be a bit strict in some of the matters as like exams and the students. Most of the students never attended classes even though they were marked excellent which was not good for the students who came to classes regularly and did hard work to get those excellent marks.
