Likes
- Attendance is not blindly strict, however the teachers do point it out if you miss too many classes.
- The campus is getting renovated and the lecture halls are quite spacious.
- The canteen is friendly and fast. The campus has a mother dairy with lots of options in coffee, chips, ice cream etc
Dislikes
- Some of the air conditioners don’t work very well and it gets very hot during summers. Maintenance is not the best
- I personally don’t like rats and lizards so it is not a good feeling to see them creeping around on the walls
- The classes are not held in a very organised manner, the labs lack some equipments and chemicals sometimes
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of bachelor of pharmacy (B pharm) program at Delhi institute of pharmaceutical science and research (DIPSAR) is generally well structured and has its strength but also has some aspects which need improvement. It offers solid foundation for pharmaceutical sciences, blending the theoretical and practical aspects. I chose dipsar because of its well known reputation, good faculty and their take on real world application on what's taught in class
Fees and Financial Aid
I pay 26,000 for the odd semester and 4000 for even semester. Per year it is 30000 and it's a 4 year course so total= ?1,20,000. This is for scheduled tribe. For general, it is about ?90,000 per year. There are financial aids for low income below 8 lakhs for tribals through north east government scheme.
Campus Life
There are different clubs like the dance society, photography society, literature society, music society etc. There are also societies for volunteer work. The college does not have fests but occasionally organises small event for festivals like Holi or Diwali. There is a basketball ground. There is also underground parking and a cool printer
Admission
The cut off for all the courses are different depending on the number of applicants that year. Bachelor of pharmacy dipsar has the highest cut offs. Majority of the seats are for general category while there are only 7 for scheduled tribe from Delhi and 1 for scheduled tribe from outside Delhi. They accept the class 12 board exam marks and getting atleast a 90% above would give you a chance as a general student, applicants for scheduled tribe seats are very less hence the cut off is lower.
Faculty
Most of the faculty members have a doctorate degree in their specialties. Almost all the teaching faculty is passionate to teach and take their job seriously. The strict teachers are taken more seriously and students study well under them. They have in-depth knowledge about their subjects and encourage students to ask questions in order to develop good understanding and knowledge of the subjects.
