IITK insights

IIT Kanpur is famous for its core branches. The courses were recently modified and updated but some of the courses still are not up to date and the same taught as years ago, talking about relevancy the courses are relevant enough. The grading is good in Kanpur as compared to the other IITs. If other IITs have an average spi of 7.5, IIT Kanpur has an average of around 6. The grading and course difficulty can be decreased.

on day 1 internships the top companies are optiver, quadeye, goldmann saccs, Microsoft, google they offer SDE, quant analyst, some hardware roles too and offer around 4L per month and internships are of around 2-3 months. Apart from these top companies there are around 50 more companies which come during the duration of the semester which offer a little lesser stipends. roughly 400 students get on campus internships

There are 2 things- Internships and Placements. internship tests are during start of your 3rd year and 2 go for internships at start of 4th year. For placement you have it at the end of your 4th year. Around 400/1200 get placed in internships and around 800 get placed on campus. On day 1 you get top companies for internships as well as placements such as Microsoft, google, quadeye,jlr,goldmann saccs, itc,optiver top companies offer intern of around 4-5 lakh per month with all expenditures and for placements top companies give around 50 lpa. Those who are not placed on campus apply off campus on the basis of their resume and skills, the college has ANC council which provides addition intern and placement opportunities apart from the companies on campus and also there are enough POR's to build ur skills and resume

Tution fee is not very high also not very low and mostly remains the same. The college provides category scholarships like SC/ST have a total fee of around 1LAkh 70 thousand vs 9 lakh 60 thousand as of general for complete Btech, financial aids if your family income is below 5lpa you have to pay around 4 lakh 60 thousand, merit-based scholarships like there was recently some Ratan Tata scholarship which was eligible for only branch openers for all branch.

There are 3 main tests Udghosh -a sports fest(first week of October), Antaragni - the cultural fest biggest of all(November), and Techkriti - technical fest(march). Many colleges participate in the fest competitions and there are pronites, standup comedies, and various events all day long during fests. The library is very accessible and has almost all varieties of books on almost every field, and the book issue cost is 0 and late charges on issued books are really low like for 6 months around 15 rupees. Apart from normal sports facilities like football badminton tennis, here at IITL we have squash facilities swimming facilities (Olympic sta standards pool), and snooker facilities, for fun and recreation as well as competitive purposes. Talking about clubs we have a varied variety of clubs from tech clubs like- programming, robotics, and electronics to college teams like motorsports, aerial, underwater, humanoid, and vision to clubs like - photography, film, humor house, etc.

The hostel facilities for 1st year students is top notch in hall 13 but after first year in older halls like 2,3,4,1 we have older property and less space. We have almost all facilities like canteen, badminton basketball volleyball courts, gym but quality is not up to the mark and can be improved. Meals are more or less good and affordable we have around BDMR of 80 rupees. we have 6 floors for the freshers hall and for other halls 3 floors divided in 7-8 wings

In IIT Kanpur, You have to clear Jee mains first then sit for Jee Advanced, and on the basis of advanced rank, you are allotted IITs, around 14 lakh students give mains out of which around 1.5L seats for advanced, and from that around 20k students get its, everything about the application form, dates, fees can be availed on www.nta.ac.in. There is mostly 1 quiz and end-sem for the modular course and for semester-long courses, we have quiz1 mid-sem-quiz 2, end-sem, and sometimes surprise quizzes in some courses, quizzes are around 40 mins and mid-sem end sem 2-3 hours.

the faculty to student ratio is approximately 1 faculty on 25-30 student. Here the classes are taken by professors almost all of them being IITIANS AND PhD's still continuing their researches and there are tutors for assignment discussions who are current MTech or PhD students in iitk.
