A Year's review of NLU-T

I had to learn Law and when I saw that VC sir, who is one of his kind in our field, was in the committee for syllabus formation, I was keen about it. As it was expected, our syllabus is designed as such which includes practical as well as theoretical knowledge. Again expert lectures from teachers like Prof. Sairam Bhatt sir are 'cherry on top'. We have one mid sem( 25m) and end sem exam(45m), rest 30 from project, viva and attendance.

There is no Internship committee but teachers arrange internships for us which are under learned and experienced people in High Courts, District courts and the Supreme Court. Teachers also help in any ongoing project you may be doing.

Hostel fees is included in the total fees which 1 lakh 81 thousand. You've to give mess charges monthly seperately which are around 4200 but this may vary as our University changes vendors frequently to increase food quality. Total may amount around 10 lakhs. There are many State and National scholarship one may apply. You may participate in different competition to earn.

There are many festivals celebrated in the NLU, like Viraha for farewell, Sansriti for religious programs, educational programs like TDF talks. We're provided with LexisNexis subscription and all our course books, however not such strong library.

Rooms are with plenty of space and nice for a hostel but food is not good, but I can't say that there is nothing going on for this but we are not currently satisfied with food. Hostel is mandatory so you'll automatically get it but you may opt for PG outside.

You can appear after 12. You've to give CLAT to come which is normally conducted by February. Normal reservations apply, state quota will be applied for our NLU too, approx, 13-15 seats are reserved. You've to focus on subjects like legal reasoning, GK, maths etc and most importantly English

Faculties everywhere are of some kind but what extra we get is that we get continuous interaction with professors of NLSIU, alumnus of Cambridge University, Harward etc. We get to learn from their hard earned experiences and knowledge.
